Hello everybods, thanks for the greetings & helpful advice. Receiving the 'eGo' tomorrow (ebay 'pipedreams-uk'). I have half a dozen juices ready to try. I never actually sampled the 'Elites' but people I know that have are now back on the fags, not much of a recommendation in my view as my aim is freedom from slavery to the weed ! Six years ago I stopped for six months aided by the 'Champix' pills. But I found I missed the camararderie that exists amongst fellow snoutcasts. Especially as I spend a lot of time in Ireland where the liveliest bar in any PH is the smoking area (don't know if that's down to the nicotine, the black stuff or maybe a combination. Hopefully my new gizmo will save me missing out on all the 'craic' .
@ SIFFY sounded earlier today like she was climbing up the walls, :'(would that be frustration or withdrawal symptoms ? . I ask because I wonder if I might be swapping one addiction for another.

Frankie, you might be, but it's a cheaper, healthier addiction. (Says the girl who just spent more money on a vivo today.... One day it WILL be cheaper!)

Hi Frankie, would that be with Siffy thinking she had a dud battery (only just logged on as i've been busy) as thats only thread i have had time to read besides this one, it was just panic i think & shes sorted now if thats the one you was meaning, i don't know about anyone else on here as i can't speak for anyone else, but i for one don't think i have swapped one addiction for another as i don't vape as much as i smoked & where with a fag you automatically went for a smoke every so often, this doesn't seem to happen with me, it just doesn't seem to have that sort of 'pull' hope this helps but you will see yourself as you get in to vaping.
For me stopping smoking this time has been sooooo easy & so different than all the times i've tried before, i have had no withdrawal symptoms or any loss of concentration, no temper tantrums & definitely not eating any different than when i was smoking so no fear of putting weight on either

Hiya Frankie, oh climbing the walls I was. To be honest was more frustrated as it would have been my second battery broken in less than a week, turns out it wasn't, thank goodness.

I think in the nicotine aspect of it then yes I am addicted, only been off the cigs two weeks. I also have no plans to stop vaping, it might happen that I reduce my intake but have no desire to stop vaping. It did cross my mind to have a you know what, but I didn't, and would have bought some of the pants elites. I think I probably have just swapped one addiction for another, but like my hubby said at leastvthis one is safer , you don't stink and doesn't bleed our bank account dry every month;)

Frankie i'm no expert as only been vaping 5 weeks but the advice i was given was 18mg (i smoked approx 15 Regal daily) as your rollies were stronger why don't you start with 24mg but also get some glycerine from either Boots = £1-36 for 200ml or a small bottle of glycerine from Tesco (on home baking aisle with flavourings, food colourings) then if 24mg is too strong just add a few drops of glycerine to lower the strength until its to your liking

Frankie .... I was where you are a week ago ... 30-40 fags a day ... I started with the same kit you mentioned ... An ideal starting point ... You will know within 48 hrs if vaping will replace your addiction ... It did with me .... And yes ... Now I wish I'd spent the extra money and jumped into the world of variable voltages and Mods ... But I think we all have to go for the Evo stage first ... It will change your life mate ... Stick with it and ask these good people about anything ... Right now they are my strength to carry on ... And I already prefer vaping to fags !!

That looks good,what strength did you go for ? And does is really taste like Old H ?

Peoples' taste buds vary, but to me it tasted just like the real thing. I'd used other stuff, but was still also smoking, with no intention of giving up, until I found the OH flavour.

I used cig-alikes for the first month or so - ended up with 6 batteries - then got variable voltage stuff and clearos. A bit later (maybe 6 weeks since the last fag) someone here said 'no juice tastes like an actual cigarette' so I dug out an unopened pouch and rolled myself one to compare. To match the taste I had to dial up the voltage from what I normally used - i.e. the rolly had a stronger taste and a bit more throat hit than my ideal. So I didn't finish it.

I smoked a bit more than you - nearer 20g/day (and for a bit longer) and I found that 18 mg was good. My first buy was 18 mg and 38 mg. Later I bought some 0mg and mixed it 50/50 with the 38mg.

I wouldn't advise buying huge quantities of any one juice. Taste buds tend to change gradually (quickly sometimes) after you give up smoking, whether you vape or not, and lots of us move on from tobacco to coffee & desert flavours.

Sound advice from Giles, I made the mistake of stocking up for a Zombie Apocalypse with a couple of flavours I enjoyed  . . . only to find my tastes change completely a few months into vaping.

Great, thanks for all the advice Giles. The real stuff is lovely as you well know, but the stink gets into every thing and stays forever. Be nice to lose that !
