Can anyone help me with opinions/user experiences with the Taifun 'spheroidalike' setup (it seems to be called the 'cotton tank' on the website).
Basically a mate has offered me a secondhand Taifun/cotton tank at a very cheap price (I couldn't buy a secondhand Spheroid for that price!). He's selling it because he now only uses mesh (genesis) style atties. It's in mint condition with a nice drip tip and blue foam etc.
I tend to use an ego battery at work, and I think the Taifun would fit nicely - but if it's a significantly poorer vape than the Spheroid then I would be better off taking my Lavatube to work and saving up for a Spheroid. Scott Bonner's review suggests it would work OK with an ego battery and seems to imply that it is broadly comparable with the Spheroid in terms of flavour and throat hit At home it would be used on the LT or mini Provari (I think it looks nice on Scott's Provari!)
Is there anybody out there who has used both the Spheroid and the Taifun? If so what do you think - bargain basement Taifun or more pricey Spheroid?
My mate is on holiday for the next week, so I have some time to think about it!

Never tried a Taifun . . . they may be fantastic. I do however have 2 Spheroids . . . which I love. I would get a Spheroid.

Never tried a Taifun but I think they are quite a bit bigger from what I have read but without a doubt, the Spheroid has to be right up there at the top as far as atties go. I have spent quite a lot of money on quite a lot of atties and have ended up with the Kayfun and the Spheroid and to be honest I would still have a problem deciding which is the best vape. The main difference for me is the form factor. If the Taifun is very cheap, then get it. You could always sell it on as and when you want to move to something different without loosing any money.

I've got both but rarely use the Taifun.
Bought the Taifun when Spheroids were difficult to get hold of, it's easy to set up & it vapes really well & is a better engineered bit of kit than the Spheroid, it's a fair bit taller than the Spheroid, a good 15mm.
Spheroid IMO is a nicer looking atty, gives a warmer vape than the Taifun which suits my taste, it's a simple design that works very well & is as easy to set up as the Taifun. The warmer vape is what swung it for me, I liked it so much i bought 3 of them.
A cheaper alternative is the A7oid, performs very well but you're stuck with a metal mouthpiece unless you're handy enough to convert your own A7.

Many thanks for the info and opinions - much appreciated The Spheroid seems to be very popular and well thought of. They also seem to be very hard to get at the moment! I think the Spheroid is now firmly on my 'to do' list, as everyone I have spoken to says they are a brilliant vape. In the meantime I think I am going to buy my mate's Taifun because the price is very good, and I can sell it on again if I don't like it. I sounds as though the Taifun is at least in the same league as the Spheroid, and I like the fact that I can stick it on an ego battery for work. Thanks again for your help and insight!
