My 1,000th post!

I do hope this doesn't sound like I'm 'creeping' up anyone's backside here (excuse the expression, and no smutty comments from you fiddles )... but I wanted to make my 1,000th post a little special.

I've been a member of several forums (mainly internet marketing) and while I feel I've contributed a little to most (although never getting anywhere near this number of posts), I've never felt so much 'at home' as here. I don't know how Chrissie has created this, but to me, I feel I'm talking to family, whether the subject is 'vaping' or 'my life's just gone t*ts up'... I know I'll get a family 'non-judgemental' but honest response from the members.

Yes, there are plenty of other 'vaping' forums out there which I joined when I first got hooked on this lark, and I'm not knocking them, they all serve a purpose, but I hardly ever go to them now, because, for me, there is not the same atmosphere. By all means try them, but I just feel that here we have something more than just a 'vaping' community... a lot more.

Although I hate to admit it (being a bloke), I think part of the answer is that this forum is moderated mainly by females (did I just say that!) ... and we blokes do not want to incur the wrath of our 'mothers'... is there a 'Freudian' inference there? Whatever... it keeps it a very peaceful and 'happy home' for which I, for one, am truly grateful. Thanks Chrissie and all the Mods.

Got another milestone in a couple of weeks... it will be 1 year without a single fag in that time, and a new central heating boiler installed with what I've saved!

Nice 1000th post Mr. Raffles totally agree with everything you said, I really didn't expect it but this forum & community has a unique vibe to it that I felt from day one.

And now that you mention it, I do think that the fact the forum founder and moderators are Women makes a big difference.

It really isn't an easy job finding the right balance of how to moderate a forum & the larger the forum gets, the harder it becomes. We are just so lucky that we have so many kind & thoughtful members

You are right though. It is different here. I think it is not only due to the fab job the lady mods do, but, because of the atmosphere, more women feel comfortable contributing here which means it is far more friendly. I don't want to bash the boys, but I have found that forums with a high percentage of male posters tend to turn into a constant willy waving contest, which gets boring after a while.

You are one of my favourite guys Raffles. Long may you continue to post. Here's to your 2000th post!
