Yup , I too am guilty of dodgy video. Not used to it yet and I'm sure I can do better with practice if everyone can wait for me to catch up with the tech. The bad audio I have tried to avoid sometimes by adding (or indeed only having) subtitling. Keeping stuff in shot is a bugger to be fair unless you are really used to doing this sort of thing. I constantly look up to find I have wandered out of the visible area, especially on desk cam shots. I know a solution will be to set up me workspace with coloured tape stuck to the desk with the edge limits of what the cameras see. Also timing is a bugger and I need to work on making sure I leave what I've done in shot long enough with a clear, unobstructed image.
To be fair though I only started tinkering with video a scant few weeks ago and still have much to learn.

Seriously guys, if you're serious about making decent how-to vids you could do a lot worse than check out igetcha69's early attempts and compare them with his most recent. I do realize that we don't all have access to expensive equipment but that's not always needed I think. Fox

I know its all a learning experience but get self conscious on camera which is odd since I was a company training person for a decade and was a restaurant manager at the same time so use to have no trouble "playing" to an audience of people. Don't get why my brain thinks video is different but I will settle in a bit I'm sure.
As a question, how do people find my speaking voice on videos they've seen ? I think my voice can be a little flat in tone.
I think I sound more scottish than I used to when regularly speaking in public - quite strange really (luckily no one is likely to come across films of me speaking from those days since they are not digital). Having said that in hospitality I use to enjoy playing where do you think I'm from game with customers - one person in my whole life guessed exactly where I was from but she cheated having been coming to my home area for years for family holidays.

I could hear most of what you were saying VB - my lappy speakers are not the best! You were almost out of shot in one to two frames and I would have liked to have seen a little more of the 'mod' itself in close up but I do realize equipment can be limiting. Keep on keeping on! Fox
