Got a black Provari Mini v2 off the classies on another site, twas a good price. The seller priced it cheap and I have no complaints with my purchase. When it arrived, aesthetically, it looked like it had been well used and showed signs of some wear. So today, after giving some thought as to bringing it back to an item to be proud of, my options were to send it off to Smokeydokey over on UKV for a full polish or a re-paint with powder coating or a J-Wrap. I decided to give it a go myself and below are some before and after photos. along with a Youtube clip of how I went about it. I did it all by using limited kit which consisted of, A drill, some very coarse abrasive paper, wet and dry abrasive paper in grades of 240,800,1000 and 1200 grit, some odd nuts and bolts left over from my fitted kitchen, a Dremel, some polishing cream, a picture of Elvis Presley singing Jailhouse Rock and a pointy thing for taking stones out of horses hooves ??? So without further ado:- I had a good read up of how to strip down a Provari and it is a piece of cake to do, so this is it in its birthday suit:- And now, this is the stage I am at:- And here it a little clip of my drill with attached Provari body just so you can see how easy it is to do. I will add that it is still work in progress with some more polishing to do but I am more than happy with it just as it is.

Looks great! How did you protect the bit you've left black? Cheers oneday, Just wound some electricians insulating tape around about 3 wraps. and using the abrasive paper folded into a sharp crease to give me almost a knife edge, I was able to get right to the edge of the insulation tape.

Greigster. You should be `proud` of yourself, considering the basic tools available to you, you have achieved a "first class" upgrade of the Provari. . Hope you `keep this one` . Great job. respect !!!!! jeffc

Well done, that's turned out brilliantly. Love the tip with the Dremel sanding drum shaft.

Looks brilliant, Greigster! Provari ought to knock some out like that or you go into Provari primping as a sideline!
