Hey everyone,
So I've finally treated myself to two Kayfun Lites and I'm wondering what setups work best wick wise?
Only silica atty I've used thus far is the BT804 Dream which seems to be quite temperamental when it comes to how the wick is arranged which is annoying to say the least!
I've had mixed results using both the figure of eight and triple wick setup and wondered which I should be concentrating on with the Kayfun?
Do they respond to certain resistance coils better than others?
What about filling with liquid? Is it best to fill from the top or through the little hole in the base?
I really want to get them working first time so I can really enjoy them without the disappointment that comes with a bad setup!
I have had a search but can't really find any detailed reviews/tutorials for the Lite..
Many thanks in advance!
Dan

The main thing is, they are so good you really could only cope with one, So send me the second one, ill even cover the postage.

I use figure of eight with 3/4 wraps of .2 nichrome, which gives about 2ohm. Make sure the wicks don't cover the juice channels. To fill, turn it upside down and pulse-fill through the filler hole.

Ok cool! How big do you make the loops? With the dream I've tended to make them almost touch each other around the base as well as the bottom of the base, and then trimmed the tails just short of the channels.. Can you simplify pulse filling? How do you know when to stop filling? I gather it needs a small amount of air to function properly?

I just wrap the wick around the tip of my little finger. Pulse filling = squeeze a bit of juice in, pause, squeeze, pause. If you have the clear tank on it you can see when to stop filling - when the juice is almost up to the channel holes

I use the figure of eight setup too (either 3mm silica or 2mm ekowool), with the loops sideways, just touching the lower level and the tails trimmed short near the coil. I wrap them around my finger to form and then after wrapping the coil, I pull the tails to make them smaller.
I'm not sure of the thickness of kanthal I've been using, as it was an unlabelled freebie from the vape mesh co. But it's thicker than 0.2 and with 4/5 wraps I usually end up around 1.2-1.5 ohms.
When filling I always leave an air pocket in the chamber

Have you experimented much?

Yes, definitely enough room. I've rewicked this thing quite a few times now, most times with 2mm eko. After wrapping and attaching the coil, I hold the loops up while I screw the body of the chimney on, wet the loops with some liquid and push them down, gently with the end of a paperclip [edit] and yes, as long as you don't strangle it with the coil it keeps up with chain vaping GVC 50/50

Make sure your coil is directly over the air hole. When wrapping the coil I find its best to start with one of the legs pointing up and then wrap your 3/4/whatever and the other leg ends up pointing downwards. I find this the best way of doing it so you can get to coil bang on over the air hole.
Make sense?

That's a good tip, kirrielad I'll try that next time. I do my wick and coil like wot the chap does in this video. At least, I try to... Ends up a bit messier than his... The wicking bit starts at about 6 minutes

Have you experimented much? Wick is subjective to juice, I predominately vape 2 juices, Cocomel and GVC and I use both ekowool and silica Reason being that cocomel works fine with silica but loses its flavour with ekowool Gvc works fine with silica but even better with ekowool. All you can do is try both types for yourself. The pulse fill that oneday describes is done to keep the little ballbearing in the filling valve mobile and clean which stops it from sticking open and causing leaks.

Maybe that explains why my gvc works brilliantly with ekowool but the healthevape apple pie doesn't.. very muted! Will have to try with normal silica! Ahhh I see! I didn't think the lite had a valve but rather just a hole! Thought that and the air control were what differed to the 3.1es..

You're right. No valve, but a hole with a screw in it.
