Hi Timbo I would love to but still very much an apprentice just now(but learning ) I kind of see quite an old fashioned type shop(maybe a vaping equivelent of those mobile phone shops that do repairs, sell new kit and liquids etc, where people can come in and learn to coil, mix or just hang around etc(errm... once as i say ive learnt enough) Capital to open and sustain a B and M whilst its building up trade is a problem that would keep it a pipe dream for the foreseeable im afraid.

I have def thought about it but with the possible ban that is all i have done. This way of the world is begging for a quality vape shop.

If you have a pub, you might could do okay with an e-cig store next door with a pass thru. Start small and work up to the space next door. You are going to need to have a pal that owns a pub...(don we all) or shop. Hmmmm I

Iv just always loved the idea of a welcoming vapors lounge / shop. Especially seeing as there are a lot more empty shops these days for the taking.
Obviously the ban is worrying but I think everyone will jump on the idea if it stays legal.

I have thought about it a lot but shop rental is through the roof especially town centres, but you have answered your own question by saying ("there are a lot of empty shops") this and the government meddling, puts pay to it. Come 2016 it will be very expensive to hold the relevant license to trade, the government will see to that.

I would love to have my own shop, the only thing stopping me is the lack of knowledge of running my own business and funding. Product knowledge, shop name, a location and stock suppliers are all taken care of.
I also worry that the 2016 thing could ruin even the most successful ecig business overnight so that too puts me off.
My passion for ecigs and getting other people to switch is so strong, I would still open one up tomorrow if money allowed.

Rent is too much and all that, do it from home if you have a spare bedroom, you will only have to pay bedroom tax I was thinking about it but i would spend to much time making sure the stock is all lined up perfectly

I see so much potential and to be able to get people to switch for the better would be a great feeling. I feel there are still a lot of people that have no clue electronic cigarettes exist. I do think in the future it will be licensed only making it not such a good idea!

Rents, Business Rates . . . and Utility Bills are a killer, I had my own shop for 20 years and come the end of my lease it was a massive relief to be free of the responsibility. That said, there is nothing like owning your own business and being your own boss despite the stresses. Market Stalls seem a more attractive proposition where you don't have to make such a long term commitment if it all goes pear shaped. If you do trade from home, strictly speaking you should declare that to your Local Authority, who will then access a proportion of your dwelling for Business Rates, rather than Council Tax.

I was thinking about it but i would spend to much time making sure the stock is all lined up perfectly Just had this email from Super-Shiny... Dear prospective Customer, sorry but I am refusing your order because as explained in my Terms & Conditions, you can only order in even numbers i.e. 2, 4, 6 etc. otherwise it throws my stock control system into turmoil. Plus even if you comply I still have the right to ignore if it spoils the appearance of my stock box stacking. Perhaps you'll be luckier next time, if all the planets and stars are in alignment. Have a nice day now and thank you for your (nearly) custom!
Love you Rom (as in a 'man way', as fiddles would say!)
