My neighbour (former smoker) desparate for a cigarette,

 Hi all.

I have a question to throw out there..

My neighbour who was a smoker, gave up four years ago following a heart attack. age mid 70's.
she is going through a tough time at the mo with her OH being in hospital in his late 70's.
she keeps saying that she'd kill for a cigarette right now,,
do you think it is worth me telling her that you can get shisha vaping e-cigs nic free. for her to feel like she is has a stress reliever. as she used to do.

or do you think it's not a good idear?

I do feel that she Will go out and buy a packet if she hears her OH wont be comeing home ever.

any advise please.. thankyou

TBH if I was 75, my OH was on the way out (not clear from your post) I'd smoke if I wanted to and damn the torpedoes.

Her OH is in hospital, we are hopeing he comes home, but it's not looking good.
she has always been as sharp as a button, she always trys to think of the good things, even after her heart attack, she gave up Smokeing and started walking.
She's always asking me about my vaping, hows it going and things.
But I don't want to suggest anything that may do more harm then good, (start her smokeing again). but when she's crying and wants a cigarette cos that what she used to turn too, to calm herself, I don't know what to suggest. she always talks herself out of it tho.

Aww! Wisher, I do hope she will be okay and he does come home but its not sounding good. A 0 nic ecig won't to do the trick if she is that desperate, I wish I knew what to suggest.

Maybe a chat over the garden fence while you're vaping yours? subtle like ...

yep she does know and has seen me vaping... maybe suggesting she speaks to the doctor about it, but don't know how much info they have to be the best judge on it... she's not an old frail lady in her 70's. she wears high heels and dresses like a lady, wont go out without makeup.. she looks cracking for her age, like Gloria from corrie...

Its a difficult time for anyone in this situation.. And for someone wishing to help. Perhaps she needs support, or to be kept occupied. Popping round for a cuppa with a spare atty might be a nice distraction for her to look forward to. Helping isn't easy in these circumstances. Good luck.

'Chris Vapes' l see where you could be going with this, if she is occupied with how Vaping Works it will give her something to focus on and give her a relief period from the darker places her mind would automatically be taking her bless her also will take her mind offf ciggy's fingers crossed he is ok at the end of this and 'Wisher' How Lucky she is to have a friend like you are for you both

they have been wonderfull neighbours, a joy to live next to. we go for meals out and go round for cakes and chat.. even tho we are younger then their son. We are all good friends, we have been taking her to and from the hospital everynight so she doesn't have to worry about taxi fairs,, plus she gets to have a chat about how OH is getting on.

Jeez ... At her stage of life ... With all that with her OH going on ...have a ciggy ..bless her heart ... If the OH pulls through then get her into vaping .... My 2c

How about letting her know that if she really wants to go and buy cigs....then your vape kit is just next door if she needs it. Leave it at that, and let her make the choice.

I was thinking along the lines of at her age etc as already mentioned , but i think this could be a good middle ground or perhaps offer to leave a simple kit with her set up if she needs it.

Such a tricky one as no way would i want to see a non smoker return to nicotine......but its got to be better than smoking

Seems your not the only one with nice neighbours(I think she would say the same with you coming here on behalf of your neighbour is....well nice )

thanks everyone. its been really helpful. yes vaping would be a great middle ground for her... i'll look into getting a 5ml bottle of the very low nic vanilla juice and a spare clearo. then if she every really feels she cant resist then I have something in that's not cigarettes.
I do think when she's asking how I'm getting on with vaping, I think she's asking about herself.
