Surprised me how much better it was actually blakey when i popped in the same battery.. Direct connection from battery to attie, you cut out a power losing connection Do you use the adjuster on the bottom of the clone to adjust for battery rattle or is that done from the spring?

No mate I made the topcap the perfect size to do away with the adjuster on the center pin making it that bit smaller and there's no spring in the bottom either.

Something like a brass M5 (?) nut on the connector would allow for differing battery lengths? or does that adjust on the end of the Hercules? also a greater surface area for the battery to sit against?

Yes there is an adjusting nut on the center pin but I've taken it off as I only use the one battery type in it anyway and it's only for personal use. It's all learning as I go and I don't really plan anything that's for myself I just think I want something and jump on the tools and see where it takes me lol.
