This is just a general query and although to do with mixing, my query is more aimed at others who have tried reducing the strength (mg level) and their reactions.
I normally vape my tobacco flavour (Royal) at 24mg with a 15% flavouring and at 7.5w. I made up a new mix of it, reduced to 22mg and only adding a 10% flavouring.
Now I expected that initially anyway, I would need to raise the wattage to maybe 8.5 or 9w to get the same kick and taste, but in fact I am finding better at a reduced wattage of 6 or 6.5w.
Now whilst this is great because the battery last s longer, I am a bit surprised by this result. Anyone got any ideas as to why this has happened?

Has the PG/VG ratio changed very much?

I don't think your 2mg would make much difference - especially at higher strengths. There is probably that much variance in accuracy of a mix to start with 10%+/-.

I find that all my recipes that use very little flavour atomise better. I also find that a new/clean coil needs less volts than one that has had a few ml through it. I have never been heavy on the flavourings, but the longer I vape the lower my nic and flavour% gets, and although I do get days when I need to send a few more volts flying around, those days are rarer and rarer. I suspect that VG likes lower watts than PG, but that is just from hearing other peoples experiences compared to mine with high VG. There are so many variables, in both human and equipment, that sometimes it is difficult to pin stuff down. At the end of the day ... if it works ... keep doing it

Thanks all for your replies.
Because my tobacco e-juice is a "mainstay", I make it up 200ml at a time and so the accuracy is as near as dammit. My PG/VG is the same at 70%/30% although naturally this has changed because of the 5% reduction in flavouring.
I do suspect that the reason for the drop in wattage has a lot to do with "me" and not the mixture. The ol' body clock and "need for nicotine" etc.
However, one thing I have noticed is that, for some time I have been experiencing a sore throat and a constant need to clear it, especially last thing at night. On this new recipe, no sore throat and completely clear of any gunge. So I guess I will be sticking to this one.
