Bottles for my freezer?

Hi guys, I've been trawling through the site reading up on freezing my nic to prolong its shelf life. I realise I need glass bottles. I guess 50ml ones will be ideal, but where to get them? Saw the link to ampulla and although they are 30p each they charge more than the amount of my order to deliver.
Was looking at some on eBay but most have plastic tops. Is it okay to use plastic tops? Can I use older glass bottles that once contained nicotine? Again they may have plastic tops. Can I try and blag some from chemists?

Does the bottle have to be filled to the brim? I know they best to stay upright.

Any advice or links greatly appreciated...

Does the bottle have to be filled to the brim? I know they best to stay upright. I don't fill mine to the brim, it's easier to decant off if they're not and to give the contents a shake when the bottle has come up to room temperature.

YW Cammy . . . just don't let on what they're for, some Chemists shops can go into meltdown if you mention anything to do with nicotine/ecigs.

I get them from the local chemist too and I'm just honest and say they're for e-liquid....chemist also good for medicine bottles for holding shampoo for hols..

In fact I get 200ml or whatever for freezer and like the smaller bottles for mixing (cos I mix about 25ml at a time)....been doing for almost 2 years...never a problem with the chemist

actually perpy is right...be careful of chemist meltdown. I only use two chemists and they both know me and I'm there every 2 weeks for meds for head.....so yeah if one chemist fails try another

Cool so medicine bottles is what I am asking for, to use for aromatherapy?

Go into boots pharmacy counter and ask for amber glass bottles.
Last time, 100ml bottles cost me 34p each - mrs fred got some from another store & they tried to charge her 80p each - she said no, they're 34p each, & that's what she paid. Don't think they have an actual price for them

I ordered 12 x 125 ml amber bottles from Ampulla on 23rd August when they arrived on 29th i opened the box & they were correct size but ....... Clear glass, i checked my account with them & sure enough i had ordered amber bottles so i phoned them to explain the error & the receptionist told me they would send me some amber ones & i should receive them Monday 2nd September & to dispose of the clear ones.
The amber bottles finally arrived on 5th September so i don't think i will be ordering from this company again they are totally useless.
I took the clear bottles to our local chemist & they were happy to take them off my hands.

&dnglos they say its best to keep nic base in dark glass bottles for long term storage in the freezer.

Thanks dinamic22. I haven't tried freezing anything yet, but I figured I might start stockpiling some nic base. I just thought clear glass would be better - so you can get the bottles out every so often and check the colour of the liquid inside.

dnglos i read on here about the dark glass bottles & it makes sense to start stockpiling the nic base with how things are going doesn't it, you need slightly bigger bottles than the amount you are going to store to give room for expansion the ones i got are 125ml to store 100ml nic base in.
What i'm doing is instead of ordering 100ml each time i need supplies i now order 200mls so that i can store half of it & then its not costing me a fortune all at once, i figured in the next 2 years if i can manage to store approx 20 x 100ml bottles of nic base i should be ok for a while if the ban comes in 2015.

The nic base I buy is clear. It's my understanding that over time it will oxidize (or oxidate??) and gradually turn a yellowish colour. I figured if you took a bottle out of the freezer and the liquid had a yellow tinge to it, that would be a sign that you should use it sooner rather than later.

I've not noticed any expansion got to say Di . . . the liquid inside isn't freezing solid, just thickening up a bit. But it makes sense to leave space in the bottle, makes drawing off easier and simpler to remix the contents when the bottle has come up to room temperature again.

Pop a label with the date you froze it on Dnglos, then you can make sure you're using your oldest bottles first.

All nicotine base/eliquid changes colour over time, it isn't a sign that anything is wrong with it . . . just makes sense to rotate any stocks in date order.
