Hi,
still patiently waiting for my ithaka clone to arrive on the slow boat from china .... In the meantime I've got my ready made wires and wick ready to have my first stab at re-coiling ....
its now occurred to me that the advice I got from somewhere to get 3mm ekowool my not have been the best advice ... Am I worrying unnecessarily or have I got the wrong stuff ?

I use 3mm silica in my Ithaka and have never had any issues, if that helps.

There's quite a difference between 3mm silica and 3mm ekowool ... The ekowool looks like you could use it for abseiling !!
