I seem to lurch from one vaping crisis to another... My vamo is now displaying the message " short" and stops working. This happens on 3 out of my 4 18350 batteries.... I'm really hoping its a battery issue rather than the device. I had problems with the crappy charger the Vamo came with from FT. First it stopped working then only one bay would work but it wouldn't cut off and super heated the batteries. The batteries ended up reading 4.5v on the Vamo ! In hindsight I shouldn't have used them but I thought the vamo's internal protection would prevent any damage. I then invested in a nightcore charger and thought I had the batteries working again..... A few days later and now I'm having these issues. Now I'm staring out of the window desperately hoping the postie will turn up with the 2 efest batteries I ordered on Wednesday or the spinner that raid2506 so kindly fixed ( Thanks so much bud ! ) Any advice or views appreciated !

What atty are you using spikus?..............also, the Vamo has a problem with the centre pin occasionally.........you may have tightened the atty down a tad too much, which pushes the centre pin down......using a small flat head screwdriver or similar, gently lift the centre pin a bit & then try it.......but do it gently............the little grommet surrounding the pin wears & stretches & this causes the pin to drop........

If it's not happening on all your batteries then I would say your charger has shagged the other 3. But there's a slim outside chance that it could be coincidence. When you test your new batteries if the fault still presents then chrisjw may well be on the money. A head short is easy enough to fix and I can talk you through it at some point if you want to DIY. Otherwise I'm more than happy to have a look at it for you.

Sounds like the atomizer connector center pin is shorting out to me too. Changing the batteries will not rectify this problem. You need to check the insulation around the center pin like @chirsjw recommends, if you are unsure how to do it you need to let someone with some electrical knowledge look at it for you.

They used a very soft silica grommet on the vamo center pins, They are easily split, the best solution is using one from a dead ego battery As they are much more robust. Fiddily to fit but can be done with a bit of patience And persistence.

Thanks guys ..... This problem only happens with some batteries and not others... If there was a grommet issue wouldn't it's be the same no matter what battery I used ..? Sorry if I'm sounding thick here...

I'm no expert, but: I seem to lurch from one vaping crisis to another... My vamo is now displaying the message " short" and stops working. This happens on 3 out of my 4 18350 batteries.... I'm really hoping its a battery issue rather than the device. I had problems with the crappy charger the Vamo came with from FT. In hindsight I shouldn't have used them but I thought the vamo's internal protection would prevent any damage. ??? Can't stop the battery being overcharged.I then invested in a nightcore charger and thought I had the batteries working again..... My money is on goosed batteries. (& by the sounds of it, you're bloody lucky they didn't explode or burst into flames)
