What I tend to do chrisjw when I buy from a new vendor is take a 1 ml syringe, block the end with a toothpick, remove the plunger and drip into it until I reach the 1 ml level. I then take a note of the number of drops per ml for that vendor's bottle droppers. It can vary from about 18 - 33 in my experience.

Has anyone ever managed to get the blue cap off a Flavourart bottle without resorting to a hacksaw?

Has anyone ever managed to get the blue cap off a Flavourart bottle without resorting to a hacksaw? No . . . although snippy, snappy pliery things are my weapon of choice. Wrench the accursed thing off, then decant into something more user friendly, s'wot I do.

them DV glass dropper bottles most deffo are not dropper bottles, unless you have the patience to wait 30 seconds or so per drop...... i tried once, got my first drop, by the time the second one came out, i'd forgotten how many i'd already dropped, what i'd done yesterday and what recipe i was mixing...... i love old age, me....
