I want to get a shiny atty to have brushed look similar to my MOD, is it as simple as rubbing it back with say 2000 grit paper?

Yes that is all it takes, easier if you can put it in a drill. If you use an old connector, ego something like that to fit in a drill chuck and screw the atty to that it makes life a lot easier.

I tried it with a well known tool advertised on the TV, but I ended up with what looked like a flat spot on a Formula 1 tyre! Not surprising really, I'm hopeless at woodwork too ....... Jag. (Fine with a soldering iron .....) |

You can use Scotchbrite pads too, it's what i used to give my Roller SS-P a custom finish. They're very forgiving a leave you with a silky smooth finish for minimal effort.  |
