Oh that age old question!
I don't want to know what's better as such as it's all personal preference, I suppose I'm after recommendations for top coils.
I was advised to buy evods as a replacement that came from the tank with my starter kit. I don't know what I got with my kit, it's an ego cone and a plastic tank clicks into it with a flat mouthpiece.
So, dutifully I ordered some evods and have been using them since.
My issue is juices tasting tooootally different from when I taste them in the shop. I have no idea what they use, I think they are just the disposable top coil carto things (CE4?).
I had a massive tasting session yesterday and came home with 3 juices that I loved, my favourite being a mint choc chip one, it was that eye rollingly 'ooooooh this is niiiice' feeling when I had a toot at the shop.
I've put some in my evod today with a new head, and it's just totally different and if I'm honest, not that nice. I have a twist so fiddled with the voltage which only seemed to make it worse. The battery they gave me to test juices was just a bog standard 900mah ego, which I have as my back up so I whacked it on mine and still the same.
This has me wondering if evods are actually for me, can they really alter taste this much or is just my tastebuds being rubbish?

I asked the chap at the stall and he said they were ready to go, but yeah, maybe I'll try in another week (if Mrs Lords lasts me that long!)

Next time you are buying something maybe get a Iclear16 or Vision Ego V3 with your order to compare what you like most, Evod or Iclear16/Vision Ego V3

I think everyone should try iClears after CEx. Lots of people like bottom coils, but you owe it to yourself to try a good quality top coil.

Hi Sassy .. I won't get into the bottom coil versus top coil debate (again) as every one knows my preference for the dual top coil iclears by now! What I will say is that imho a dual coil will always give a far better vape in terms of TH, flavour and vapour production than a single coil of the same nett resistance. The new bottom dual coil clearos include the Aspire, the Davide and the Kanger Protank if you want a cool, airy vape. If you want a warmer, tighter vape then you can't go wrong with the iclears.

It is def down to personal taste. CC swears all her juices taste better in her vision v3's even if i put the same juice in any of my stuff including my drippers with cotton in them. Think it is just a case of trying things and seeing what works best for you and your taste buds.

Thanks all!!
I'll give the iClears a whirl and see which I prefer. I'm gutted though, was really looking forward to my mint choc cream today!
Need to remember to save some Mrs Lords Custard Cream to try in a top coil though as I adore it in a bottom coil

I too find I get a much better TH, taste and warmth from my iclear30 than my two Evods, that's just my personal preference as it feels more like I am having a cig than the cooler vape does which for me is still very important at this stage.

IMO. You can't beat a vivi nova. It's pretty much all I use.

not really biased myself, tend to use TCC when I'm in work, as it tends to give a better hit during my breaktime. BCC are my normal choice of the evening as I tend to vape a heavier mix at night (goes well with my liquid relaxent ) No debate, just whatever floats your boat.

Iclears and the new Aspire BDC both bottom coil and the aspire has been getting great reviews, if you have not used a duel coil before, you will notice the difference!

Used to use top coil all the time, iclear10s,16s and a 30. They are a good reliable vape, but I find they suffer from dry hits and imho are more fussy about the voltage. The flavour is very different in a bottom coil, I find bottom coils give a lot more intense flavour and I like a cooler vape. But everyone is different, that's why vaping rocks. There's something for everyone :-)
