Help to get going with my first kit please

Hi Everyone,

I've been having a good read of the site for the last couple of days and finally joined up.  

I wonder if you could give me a bit of help please?  I'm a 40 a day L&B smoker.  Over the last couple of weeks, I've cut this down to about 20/25 and have also been using a SkyCig. It sort of does the job, but I'm still wanting the real fags.

To get me started on the vaping, I've had a look through lots of the posts and although I think I know what I'm doing - I'm not really sure!!

I'm thinking I need to order: 

A mini protank 2 (because I think I need a really good battery to get the same hit as I'm used to..... ????)
That I need 32mg strength nicotine.???
I need a 50/50 mix of VP and the other thing that hits your throat.???

I wonder if you could help me and let me know if I am on the right lines here please?  If not, I would appreciate any help you could offer me.
Ideally, it might be good if I could go into a shop who could show me all of the different stuff, but I've been googling and can't find anything near me.  I'm based in Gateshead.

Any help would be gratefully received.

First off i would suggest you don't post in a blue Font, as it will cause havoc with any links you post..

I've had a look at the evod kit link which you kindly send me. Do you think that the 650m battery will be enough for me as a heavy smoker? (Or have I missed the point with the battery sizes?)

Good point, I was always sceptical about it, but as you are getting two it's a good starting place.
As an alternative you could always give these a try, a little more expensive but well worth the money ( it's what I use out and about but with a different atty)

Hello & a warm welcome to you fizziebizzy

The mAh rating of a battery wont make any difference to what sort of hit you will get, but how long the battery lasts between recharges. As you are a heavy smoker, I agree you will need something with a higher MAh than 650.

I'd also suggest, if you could afford to so, to go for something with variable voltage (simply put this means you can turn up the power to get a bigger hit), like a Spinner for example.

Hi and welcome. I'm fairly new to vaping and went from 20+ a day for 50 years to 18mg juice with no problems haven't wanted a cig. As your looking at mini protanks I would suggest this kit myepack.co.uk/mini-protank-kit.html. You haven't said what your budget is but ideally 2 of these kits would set you up. You will need 2 batteries 1 for charging while using the other. I'm not too sure on battery sizes but I think it's just the length of time you can use them between charges. One 650 battery does me all day with another for the evening although the first still has some charge. I think if you can get the the 2 kits all you would need is some juice. I have used this vendor several times and get next day delivery as standard

For what its worth if i was to start day one again id go for a variable voltage device as Chrissie suggested.

You do have quite a heavy cigarette habit and being able to jack the volts up a bit on days its not quite working for you is a major plus point

Charons already recommended the nic % at 2.4(24mg) and its where i started also as a heavy roll up smoker but after a few weeks i found it too much and dropped to 1.8(18mg) and ive settled there.

If its the throat hit your after then something more like 70pg/30vg will suit you better rather than the 50/50 you posted.

I have to agree with Chrissie and Rich64. If I were starting out again I would go for a spinner or like. As you were a really hardened smoker turning up the voltage will give you the extra boost. I still use the spinners and the 1300 lasts me all day...and I use it like a dummy...its a constantly in my mouth . Good luck whatever you go for
