Hi guys, I'm putting together rebuildable order and thought I would take the opportunity to get some ribbon and Ekowool to try out, so need advice on what to get. The ribbon will mostly be used on my Genesis atty on mesh wick so the choices are 0.3, 0.4 or 0.5 (they have 0.8 but I'm guessing too wide?) Ekowool, on either my Dripper or fogger. Thinking 3mm but do I want hollow or silica centered? Thanks all

Not got a fogger yet but looking at them I would say 3mm ekowool is way too big for it. I use the ekowool in my IGO drippers with .5 ribbon 3/2 wrap gives about 1.5 ohm as the thicker ekowool alters the resistance of the coil

I find that I use 0.5 flat Kanthal more than an other size, usually aiming for 1.2ish ohms - but of course it depends on the width of your wick etc. For the price I would recommend getting a couple of sizes to experiment with.
Word of warning re Ekowool - I believe that they are measured on the inner diameter so they will possibly be quite a bit bigger than you expect. I had some 3mm with a core not long ago - turns out the core makes pretty good wicks too!

Got my fogger yesterday from Real Vapes, quick delivery and best price (I think) lovely pice of kit but apparently it's a bit fiddly to get it bang on but once you do.... I have also revised my opinion that it is a Taifun clone, it has airflow and filling g is different, so in my book it's based on it but has made imorovements

Re the thickness issue seeing the vids on the fogger thicker is better to prevent leaking/flooding Going with 3mm hollow and some 0.5 ribbon I think.

If you have it too thick the chimney once screwed down will push onto the o-ring and strangle the wick, 2mm Ekowool or 3mm silica may do, i also tried 2mm Bastos Silica Wick which worked well. Long thread on it here, you can skip a lot of pages until you get to the building part: www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rebuildable-atomizer-systems/461281-fogger-v2-wow.html

Thanks Super-Shiny I'm working through the whole post! There is some different builds happening with varying degrees of success, seems cotton or silica are the best to where I have read to. Will let you know how I get on (bet you can't wait lol)

I have to say I'm both a bit nervous and excited by this (I don't get out much!) Nervous that I will not be able to produce a good build, excited that if I do manage it the general consensus seems that the vape is awesome. All my other stuff has been pretty plain vanilla stuff, this is my first "important to take your time and so it properly" type device Ordered my supplies so I should have plenty to work with

Hi @nickicon thought I'd give you an update, I rebuild the fogger last night after reading the thread Romelee linked. Went with doubled over 3mm Silica and 0.2 kanthal 5 wraps giving 2.2 ohms. Didn't want anything silly on the first build especially reading about shorts and stuff and wanted to run it on my Vamo. Initial thoughts... Build itself was pretty straight forward but you have to cut the wicks to the edge. Hardest part was getting the wires round the posts Vape - is good, good vapour, good flavour (although my taste buds are just coming off stike) But I do find sometimes you need to take a unpowered drag to draw some fluid in the wicks. Not every time, I vaped for 15 mins straight no probs then it got a bit dry. Might be my build will try with 2.5 wick next I'm a little worried with micro coil and cotton as if it isn't wicking I could end up with burnt cotton but I will try it. But cotton wick better, So if you are looking at them, they are lovely but a bit finicky, your build has to be spot on and then it's an awesome vape I'll keep you updated on my progress might have to start a specific thread

Sounds like a success to me! Well no shorts and more good hits than bad I think so :-) especially after seeing some of the others attempts. But then I suppose I'm standing on the shoulders of giants and have learnt from their mistakes

Not got a fogger yet but looking at them I would say 3mm ekowool is way too big for it. I use the ekowool in my IGO drippers with .5 ribbon 3/2 wrap gives about 1.5 ohm as the thicker ekowool alters the resistance of the coil Quick question taz, is that a dual coil or a single?
