It was great meeting you, ended up being an expensive day after finding out about the cider shop. Now I have two reasons to go to Chelmsford :-) Feel a lot more confident with recoilling now, I can't believe how quick it was. I think after Christmas I will be buying some shiny things, your kits were epic !!! Currently got the Celtic kiwi on the go right now What a random meet up !!

Sometimes they are the best! Having seen mark recoil that head (and that you noticed the diff) it should hopefully make you more confident in having a go. Let me know next time your popping in to Marks and if I'm about I will try and swing by, maybe we could have a "coil off"!

You will have to give me time to learn the knack of getting the post off them... Gave up after 5 min wouldn't be a fair coil off if I can't take them apart

Need to get myself a battery that will read the resistance or a tester but I've managed to recoil with 5 wraps That's the original reason I bought my Vamo because I wanted to start recoiling and wanted and ohms checker and a good amount of protection built in. There's lots of other options available so it's a buyers market,!

bubbleglasswell done. If your serious about recoiling, you can either get a mod as gapy360 has suggested, an ohms tester (available from a few folks on here) or just get a basic Multimeter... Hope this helps you out.

Thought might be where you were going to.. got mine inside two days from iniyial order...Just when you do get it, before you test your coils, touch the probes together to get the resistance of the meter's leads, then deduct from your coil reading to get a true measurement. ( you would be suprised at the number of folks who have had a fit by forgetting to do this )

bubbleglass - that's same meter as I (and several others I think) have, only in black. Nowt wrong for our purposes Just make sure you touch the probes together before you start to measure the resistance of the meter (mine show about 0.9ohms) - then subtract this from the value of the coils. Unfortunately, these cheapies cant be calibrated, to show 0 ohms. ( Please someone tell me you can, & how to do it) Doh, just read charon's last post & he told you same thing, about the meters resistance, but i'll leave the post as it is

I'm assuming you test before you assemble it all back together Why did I think that coiling was difficult?!! I actually found it rather relaxing doing something a bit fiddly. Might be a good option to do when feeling stressed about coursework The OH is getting sick of me talking about how amazing it tastes after recoiling
