I`m not up with all the different mods these days, looks well made though, silver plated contacts is a definite plus Roscopecotrain

I have the same model with brass contacts on the way, was going to plate the contacts with silver solder myself anyways.
All their newer clones seem to be coming out with silver plated contacts now.

I hadn`t thought of that vereybowring, where do you get yours?, can you recommend a supplier for solver solder?

Alas I got it from eBay ages ago and its a big ass reel, so I won't be buying more for ages either.
Only buy from places that tell you the actual silver content though as just telling you its silver solder isn't the whole story.
The stuff I have is 5.5% silver but this means it has quite a high melting temperature so can be difficult to work with if you don't use a temperature controlled iron.

Cheers mate, I just had a quick look on Ebay, seems to be loads with lots of different silver content levels, presumably the higher the silver content, the higher the soldering temp?. I was considering a plating kit but suspect that the thickness of plating would be very low and soon worn away, thanks again vereybowring  thumb up

Yup, more silver means higher temp to melt but also better conductivity.
The really high content stuff needs pro solder gear though to get the temp high enough.

I prefer vw but they all look samey.

Just noticed on there that these are the Hcigar version of the chi you so a top quality clone.
