You'll find everything you need and more here.  I stopped from 20 a day 2 days after my son was born and haven't looked back. So glad I found this place to help me move on from the overpriced rubbish on our local market stall!

I'm fairly new here myself - you will honestly not find better advice or support anywhere I've had a bit of a blip myself tonight but feel thoroughly back on track thanks to these good people.

gooner155 - a big hi and welcome to the forum!
I would second the suggestion above re. the Spinner/Evod kits - I'm guessing your daily expenditure on fags was in the region of £15/day if you were smoking readymades, a bit less if you were a RYO man.
The kit may appear expensive at £62 but this equates to at the worst a weeks tobacco spend, and with luck and support from the forum you won't need tobacco ever again!
Variable Voltage (VV) is great as you can dial up the battery's output to give you a bit of extra hit when necessary, and back down when you want less.
Alternatively you could have a look around for a basic Variable Wattage (VW) 'mod', essentially a battery holder with some fancy electronics whic hwill tell you the charge left in your battery, the Voltage/Wattage currently set, the resistance of your atomiser, and the next high tide in Honolulu (OK, I made that last bit up!).
Please ask away if you have any questions, we were all where you are now at one point, and can help you to get the best from your equipment and your wallet

Good luck when your kit arrives and gooner. You will be amazed at how easy you are going to find this. It doesn't compare to "cold turkey" patches etc.
I was also prompted to finally give up a 45 year filthy habit because my young grandchildren were always saying " whats that smell Nan...its gross" one of them wouldn't hold my hand. I had tried everything over the years and then I found this forum. The rest is history as they say.
Don't worry if you find you are always puffing on it like a dummy to start with...it doesn't matter. Finding the right juice is what will take the time but eventually you will find it. I personally found a fruit menthol did it for me ( menthol makes you feel as though it's doing something at the back of the throat ) you will probably say like many of us have " ughh I hate menthol cigarettes" but it is a good standby juice particularly when your taste buds start to go AWOL as it usually does within the first few weeks.
You can do this Gooner...if I can anyone can

Excellent, I'm sure you'll be delighted gooner155 . . . any questions when you receive it, then ask away.

My advice with any VV/VW device would be to start low on the settings and work your way up until you find a level that suits you and doesn't give a burnt taste from your eliquid.

Hello gooner155,

I agree with everyone here that a viarable battery is best to use to get the required hit, but what i also do suggest is getting the best possible liquid for you.

So you are comfortable to move over i would suggest starting with something that you will be familiar with, for Example if you smoked Lambert and Butler.. then you see if there is something similar to that on the market in E-Liquid form. I would also suggest going on Nicotine level 36MG 3.6% asd this is for average and equilivant to 50 cigarettes per day.

I wish you all the best and i hope you begin to stop and join the crowd of Vapours... which in time will rule over the smokers

You've had lots of recommendations, my recommendation would also be 36mg juice, and a small amount of 24mg juice. Otherwise you may just not get the satisfaction from anything lower and find yourself constantly puffing on your E-cig. After some time and experimentation you may be able to lower your nicotine strength. I myself as a ex 20 a day man now find 18mg is right for me. If I go higher I get that "swimming head" feeling of too much nicotine. If I go much lower than 12mg I find I'm constantly puffing away.

Oh and by the way, I won't hold it against you but COYS!

I used to smoke over 40 per day and switching to vaping was one of the best decisions I ever made. Good to hear you have a good kit now.
