So I received my Kayfun today. I set it up with a 1.3 microcoil and cotton wick following Rip Trippers guide on YouTube. Filled it up, first couple of pulls were fine but now I'm just getting a burnt taste. Don't know what I've done wrong, can someone please help me!!

Sounds like bad wicking leading to burning the cotton, you'll defo need to change out the cotton, not sure how you overcome it as I don't own a kayfun. but it may be you had too much cotton, they say less is more! Also I would recommend putting ejuice on the wick before you put the top of the chimney on to give it a head start

Make sure that the cotton or wick isn't blocking the juice channels

blakey and Super-Shiny, juice channels are clear. Tried the method in video too, seems I'm having do some primer pulls to get to wick. Still getting burnt taste, don't understand I've coiled and wicked exactly like the videos.

What voltage are you vaping at? What PG/VG ration are you vaping? How much cotton are you using? does it move freely when it is dry?

What voltage are you vaping at? Just tried it at 8 watts. I think it may be starting to kick in now, had about about 12 or so pulls with no burnt taste. How long do you all usually let it sit before vaping? I must say when it's working properly it vapes fanatastic, lowered my nic to 12mg and it feels like 18 or more. And the flavour is out of this world.

It should be good to go straight away. Did you prime the wick with juice before?

iLardyboy as a rule i use this chart for my Kayfun: Also remember if you burn the cotton the slightest bit it has to be changed as it's forever burnt, wet the cotton with juice once the coil is done aswell as it will swell up a bit and do any adjustments after the swelling. Fill up and do a couple of dry hits to vacuum the juice a bit, leave to rest for a couple of minutes and it should work fine. Also with the cotton do use to much and strangle it with the coil.

If he is vaping at 8 watts Super-Shiny then it should be fine as thats around 3.2v and should be no burning of the coil.

I prefer the silica nest method over cotton wool methods.. I agree Mev, navy nest works better for me to. But if you want hassle free coils I can see why cotton appeals.

Yeah I had juice on the coil and wick before putting it all together. Seems the primer pulls and letting it sit for while has done the trick. Fingers crossed it keeps going like this, loving it. Just to add I made a new coil at 2.0ohms and I'm vaping it at 4.4 volts. Thanks for all the help guys.
