How long would a navy nest last for on average, that's the beauty of a microcoil just change the cotton and away you go again. I only re-wick every cpl of weeks but i don't use it exclusively, in fact i don't use it a great deal at all. Met up with a UKV member on Saturday who uses microcoils & cotton wool in his KFs & swears by them, should have asked him to set me one up to see what all the fuss is about. Tried the microcoil and cotton setup first, I managed to get to work in the end. To be honest I'm liking the navy nest better, although I think I'll try the double that ginge linked next.

So I did a double navy nest and it's wicking even better. One thing though, I don't seem to be getting as much vapour. The flavour is still there, but it seems to lacking in the vapour department. Is this normal? I'm running a 1.6ohm coil by the way.

No, it should be similar. How close have you got the coil to the air hole? That makes a difference to vapour production. I think the closer it is the more vapor you get.

Didn't seem to make a difference mate. I've tried a new setup, a navy nest cotton microcoil. So far so good, wicking brilliantly, plenty of flavour and plenty of vapour. Just thought I'd try it to see if it worked, but I will give a bit of time to see how it goes.

It's just a matter of a nice even airflow over the coil for vapour mate, if it's lacking try nudge the wick around a little.
