However, it just isn't feasible. Smoking is an over 18 subject by UK law. If anybody is on a sticky wicket here it is Proboards.

The same Proboards that have used adult advertising to sell their product. I wonder how they would stand up if I threatened them with action under UK law? I'm guessing they would have a problem with their little set of rules. I understand the definition of "Hypocrite." Perhaps Proboards need to consult a dictionary. Long term they might even need to seek legal advice.


I have no axe to grind here. But I do know the difference between right and wrong.


It is wrong to mix ANY reference to smoking real cigarettes with Children. The law clearly states this is so.



People here are a great bunch, and I think most of them, rules or no rules would agree that this board should be for over 18's only.

ant is spot on. This forum has helped so many hundreds/thousands of folks find an alternative to smoking - not just the registered members but the thousands of lurkers we get every day.

Do some of you really want to put a stop to it just so you can post some non e-cig related adult content pics? If so, then you don't give a dam about spreading the word of how much e-cigarettes can help smokers

The problem we have is this forum has become social, it was social when I used it but it's here for the sole reason of educating people and helping them through that very hard time of giving up tobacco. This isn't a chat room, the people here want to help you quit the evils, they don't get paid for it but they do their best to help.
They helped me and I will be forever thankful.

Well i've messaged Chrissie offering some of the webspace i own, and i'll buy a domain similar, so we can host a forum away from Proboards if desired.

I have no problem with cleaning up my act to suit a younger audience.


My point is, considering the subject matter they should not be here. The law is very clear about this.


But hey ...... life goes on. People will make up their own minds and make their own choices.

One thing I think would be the right way to go about things if any offence is caused then complain to a mod and not to the company that provides the server for the forum that way any issues could be dealt with internally instead of having a 48 hour warning that the site is going to be shut down

That's why I like the people here.


I wish to make it clear that I don't want to see "Adult" pictures here, nor would I ever post anything remotely close. I'm just saying that I do not feel this is a place for children, or to be more precise, those under 18.

I also understand this is a Proboard issue, and just something that Chrissie is unfortunately stuck with.


I say again. I don't want Smut here, but I don't like the idea of Children being here either.

I think we would all agree with that mark apart from maybe whomever posted the pic/pics? however this has lead on to the wider discussion of how the forum in general is run and the best way forward, going off on a tangent is what we do after all

I find myself saddened by this thread on a multitude of levels. I should start by saying that I enjoy vaping and I enjoy porn. And I know where to go for each. But...
I'm saddened that Proboards feel the need to be quite so draconian.
I'm saddened that this topic has people at each other's throats.
I'm saddened that once again a thread has people so heated they're talking of leaving.
I'm saddened that we can't sort out our own differences (there was a thread recently about someone thinking of crotcheting mod holders. I posted a pic of a knitted willy-warmer which got a few laughs. I'd like to think that if anyone was offended they'd have maybe sent me a quick PM rather than grass me up or quit the forum).
I'm saddened more than anything by the fact that once again Chrissie is having to defend herself for something that is not of her making.

As a new member to this forum who has recently been massively helped by a lot of people here I beseech you to think beyond what appear to be petty rules and restrictions proboards impose and focus on the good that you do every time a new member says 'hi ..can you help me'. Without that help many would probably return to smoking, but instead they move on to a reliable alternative. You do that for people, you welcome them, congratulate them on every cigarette they don't smoke and answer every silly question. Please don't let that change for the sake of a few pathetic rules that the moderators cannot change..
