I'm finding this very confusing, there seems to conflicting advice.

Panasonic NCR18650B protected battery will fit but should not be used daily. A better choice would be an IMR or protected battery???

and

for a mechanical mod without inbuilt electronic protection, I woulsd advise AW or Efest IMR high drain unprotected batteries???



I'm using an unprotected Panasonic NCR18650B in a mod with electronic protection and I'm very happy with the performance, I'm also happy it is safe.
There is also a protected version which I thought was safe for use in a mechanical, is this misplaced?

There is no conflict .... we both recommend IMR batteries for a mechanical mod such as the Nemesis

ETA: In fact I would recommend IMR batteries for all mods  ... mechanical and electronic  .....  much safer chemical composition and they are high drain so much more suitable for vaping.

On the site it says they are protected

I use ncr18650b cells in my evics and svd and mine are most certainly not protected cells! They wouldn't fit if they were!

Strange as it may be, you can get them unprotected or protected with the exact same model number..

Not very helpful if you're buying online

Unprotected for electronic Mods, Protected for Mechanical Mods.
