Hi everyone,
I need some advice please!
I placed three orders on friday, all from different vendors. Paid for recorded delivery on two, other one was automatically sent by overnight courier.
One order for nicotine base, and the other two for various flavour concentrates.
Had dispatch emails from all of the suppliers within hours of orders being placed and was happy in the knowledge that I'd soon be able to get my mixing hat back on.. running low!! It's
Now the predicament. One order turned up Saturday morning, one this morning, the other one however.. no sign of it!
I've been in touch with the supplier of the undelivered order and they have basically refused to do anything before 15 working days are up from expected date of delivery. Presumably that's today?
I asked for the tracking number and was told that they don't have it to hand but would forward it on either today before 4.30pm or tomorrow..
I've looked at my invoice for the tracking number to no avail..
Now, it does say on their website that they will replace un received items if recorded delivery is selected but should I really have to wait 15 working days+ before my order is resent?!
I'm not a dishonest person, and they can obviously see if an item has been delivered? If the first order was to turn up after a second order was dispatched I'd simply pay for the second order!!
My main issue is that I don't have enough of certain concentrates to last me 3 weeks and so I'm going to be out of pocket..
What would you do in my situstion?

Recorded delivery isn't guaranteed by a certain time/day if you only ordered on friday I would give it until at least Weds orThurs before messaging the vendor.
Also was it 1st class recorded or 2nd class recorded ? as the latter will obviously be a tad slower.

1st class recorded is not guaranteed nextday delivery, I would give it untill Wed & if it hadn't turned up by then I would expect refund or vendor to re-deliver

Personally i know it sucks having to wait. But i can understand the retailers point of view. Though personally I think 7 days maximum is more reasonable. Royal Mail are now a joke(having spent 10 years as a postman). With First class recorded its still possible the package will turn up tomorrow. It is the downfall of recorded delivery as opposed to Special (guaranteed) delivery. Really hope your delivery arrives soon. What they all said... I must type quicker!!

Sounds like its the delivery company, but please bear in mind that today is the first working day in delivery terms.

Thankyou everyone. Will await the vendors email with the tracking number tomorrow. Im still not happy with the 15 WORKING other they areexpecting me to wait before they'll do anything. So worst case scenario if RM see delivery day as Wednesdhay, I'll be sitting here with none of my favourite concentrates until earliest of 9th December! My opinion is inline with fiddles if I'm honest but I guess that's too much to expect. Customer service eh markm whilst i appreciate that today is "officially" the first working day, Rm do deliver on Saturdays up until midday. My other concentrates managed to get here.. so in my eyes thats two deliverable days and no materialisation of my order..

Postal arguements should be up to the seller to sort out as and when possible. The customer shouldn't have to be inconvenienced by this? This is my problem.. they would see that it's not been delivered by tracking online.. that's why we pay the extra for recorded postage.. bit like paying by paypal goods as opposed to gift.. you expect to be covered!

I think they state 15 days as the Vendor can't get RM to look into it until 15 days have passed This It is what RM's rules are i think and the vendor cannot claim or do anything until this time has passed, it's a bugger as it's RM's rules that is a pain for the vendors and that pain has to be passed onto the customer. for the Vendors and then one for the Customer

Recorded delivery only benefits the vendor and not the customer, insofar as the vendor can prove that an item has been delivered and not be stung by unscrupulous types who claim their order was not received.
As far as I can see there is no benefit to the customer as the delivery times are the same and if, as in your case, your order does not turn up, you still have to wait the standard 15 working days before the vendor can make a claim to RM.
If given the choice, I always go for standard 2nd class which usually gets delivered within 2 days in my experience.

Just to play Devils advocate here, if the vendor did send you a new order of stuff and you received both, would you then be happy to pay for the cost of the extra item to be returned to the vendor? Just a thought.....
I normally give it a week before I get too shirty, but I do normally call them after day 3 to make sure it was despatched ok. But understand where you are coming from, it's Damn frustrating when you are low on anything.

If they were to send a second package to make sure I'm not inconvenienced, then cost would have no bearing on it. Can't put a price on being well looked after!! As I said earlier, I'm not a dishonest person. I'm not looking to gain from this. I just want what I've paid for. Maybe all vendors should start using couriers.. lot more reliable!

What would you do in my situstion? Be patient . . . you'll probably get your order Tuesday or Wednesday Dan. Life's too short to get in a tizz over a slightly slower delivery really. There was a time when receiving a UK order within a week was considered fast.

It was more the way the vendor kinda spoke to me.. like time was too precious to discuss my unfortunate situation.. suppose it shows that lowest basket price isn't the be all and end all..
