It's a shame, this is what 95% of the population thinks a e-cigarette is. Yes, and not to mention 50% of vapers who think what they are using is "good". I would never use a product like this, no. I would presumably need to get through 2 or 3 a day to "extract" the necessary nicotine. Pathetic, but as they say on UKV - it's not aimed at people hoping to vape 100%. (Supposedly). I bought an E-Lite believing it did 40 cigarettes. If it did, I would have quit smoking within a day or two. ...like that happened....

Everything about the Vype that I've seen so far gives me the distinct impression that it's designed to turn smokers *away* from vaping: stupidly expensive for what they actually provide, short battery life, no flavour. The only thing they have going for them is the ready availability that tobacco industry marketing and distribution gives them. They will be bought by smokers curious to try ecigs - but not curious enough to research the alternatives - and those people will be mostly unimpressed. Job done. There'll also be a percentage of people who do go on and look for a better set up, having had a sample of the possibilities . . . look at the number of new Members we get on the forum, who started their vaping journey with a cigalike. So I don't think it's all bad remnant, we're looking at the device with the benefit of experience.

Hi, Would I consider it now? NO WAY. Would I have considered it 15 months ago? Yes, Yes, yes. My first ecig was a disposable from Tesco that cost me £6 and lasted less than a day. My second was a decent starter cigalike kit that came with a free mini kit so I had 3 batteries and 12 cartomisers. I was told that the carts were NOT refillable and if that had been the case I would have spent as much on vaping as smoking but a bit of research online showed me how to do it properly. This cigalike kit saw me through the first 5 months before I felt the need for something better and moved "on" to a 510/ego kit. There is a place for cigalikes but there is also a need for vendors to be able to advertise the fact that there is a better way of vaping. Phil

If those products worked, along with all the nrt out there - there would be a lot of x-smokers and no vapers ( as we know it ).

I think most of us first tried a cig-a-like as our intro to ecigs right ? I know I certainly did and was impressed enough to delv deeper into the options available at the time.. If that is all that was available I would most likely still be using one today.. lol

Well, if these things co-exist with the eGos, kayfuns, itastes and other independents we know... no harm done. What would be concerning is that the EU decide to put up such expensive barriers to approval that the marketplace is limited to BT's offerings. An ecig world dominated by their cigalikes wouldn't be a pretty one.

The question for this thread was 'would we scrap all our vaping gear for this' and our answers are all 'no'.
That's why we've all put negative comments about this product. Yes, a lot of people started off on these products and then went on to getting better equipment and a better vaping experience but would we go back to this product if it was the only product being allowed on the market if the EU banned the use of e-cigs as we know them, that's the question we are basically being asked here.

I know we all mostly acknowledge the value in cig-a-likes to get people vaping, and in some ways the Vype is a better prospect than certain brands I can think of.
Vype do not pretend to supply 40 cigarettes from one Vype. Nor do they hide the fact that only 60% of the nicotine will be inhaled.
60% of 18mg is 11mg of nicotine. 11mg of nicotine is like HALF a pack of cigarettes.
If people want to knowingly spend £5.99 on half a pack of cigarettes-worth of nicotine, that's fine with me.
It might be a poor product (for us, especially) and may in fact only deliver (in YIELD) the same as 6 or 7 cigarettes, but at least they are not lying their backsides off, like some of the ECITA rip-off companies.
