I will not name names as last time I did so it turned in to a free for all I have signed for many packages in the last week, I also have a list I made telling me when/where/who/how much and a final column for "received". 2 days ago I noticed I hadn't received a certain package, left it for another day, nothing yesterday either. I signed in to my account and it said "order closed" or something to that effect, I opened that order and it said "signed for" , so I searched car and house in case I had received package, nope , nothing ! Decided to contact them today to ask questions and try to resolve it, and as I was logging in there was a knock on my door and postman asked for sig and I got my package. Saying I had received and SIGNED for my goods when I hadn't is wrong on many levels !!! Apart from wasting my time trying to find if I had got my goods,it could also cause problems when I contact them with both sides insisting they are correct ! I will not be using them again !

dunno who you are talking about, but playing devils advocate here you are blaming vendor when fault could lay at royal mail/delivery company, if the tracking said signed for when it hadn't been fault is clearly delivery companys fault but if vendor changed it then is their fault but tracking details would disprove that in a dispute

dunno who you are talking about, but playing devils advocate here you are blaming vendor when fault could lay at royal mail/delivery company, if the tracking said signed for when it hadn't been fault is clearly delivery companys fault but if vendor changed it then is their fault but tracking details would disprove that in a dispute hence why no name , and you have a valid point, but the document is a PDF and was created on the day of the order, I won't be blaming the post office yet, go figure !!!

Is it just possible the 'signed for' note on vendors site just means it has been sent using the signed for service and you have misread it as being you have physically signed for the package?

Royal Mail has gone down the pan since privatisation, I reckon. A package for me last week was delivered when I wasn't at home (as planned) so I went to pick it up... took my driving licence as proof of identity. The guy at the depot passed me the package without even looking at it

ah, you can actually dispute this easily. Royal Mail have photo evidence of every signed for delivery............ get a copy, check if its same as your signature (which it obviously wont be) you have proof then

I don't understand the point of this thread as you have neither contacted the vendor to get their explanation nor checked the Royal Mail signed for signature ... how are we supposed to offer any help/suggestions without any facts? It also strikes me as unfair to the vendor that you have decided not to order from him again without finding out what really occurred here.

Also was the package late? Damaged? Any other issue? It's probably Royal Mail or an auto update to mean sent via signed for rather than meaning it had been signed for if there is no other issues what's the problem

There is no reason for you to contact him and accuse him of falsehoods ... simply ask him can he explain why the order was marked as signed for when you had not at that stage received it ... it is simple courtesy to give him the opportunity to explain his side of things. What I said was that it is unfair to write off the vendor or any vendor without establishing the facts ... innocent until proven guilty etc. He was obviously considered to be a good vendor when you placed your order and should remain so until you have evidence to the contrary. BTW, I'm not having a go at you, just seeing the situation through objective eyes. ... at the end of the day you will handle the situation as you see fit.
