Caullflower pizza base and my food processor

Cauliflower pizza base is remarkably easy to make (if your food processor works)....either cook your frozen cauliflower and chop up/grate or use fresh then bind with egg. Cook for 20 mins (depending) at about 220c and you have cauliflower pizza base (you can add spices)

Now this is all very well but guess who's plunger on her food processor died last night (didn't realise till just now)....Prices for new food processor (it fits on my food mixer) very from £50 upwards. Right now I don't have £50 and I use this item every day practically (helps me eat proper food)...quick google of the offending item. Found the pusher from some spare parts site for £7.50...

Now you may wonder why I'm saying this (and praising God) but I think if I had lesser quality kitchen wear the whole thing would have died and been more expensive to replace. I got the food mixer on a whim the other year in the sale. It's very good quality (mid price range) and I wouldn't be without it (even though it's causing some problems that are potentially life threatening with it being on the windowsill. But then so is the fridge freezer being next to the window...Argh my stupid head!!!) and really helps me eat properly (essential to good mental health)

Cauliflower pizza was a tad of a disaster (had to add flour) but even so...yummy and quick to make . Easiest pizza base have made in a long time.....

Good for gluten free diets as well as low carb

The last time I used a food processor was for liquidising tomato soup but I forgot to put the lid on. You would have thought someone had been murdered in the kitchen

OMG gordy180 dramatic!! hours of cleaning dramatic!

I make homemade soups -- a pal has an allotment and keeps delivering free random veg that I never know what to do with - so its 'veg soup' every time? I just use one of those cheapo hand blenders -- I cant cause too much danger with it......

Me too! I thought here is a liquid my daughter will be happy for me to vape which won't make her hungry...

Phew, I thought you'd lost it there, @johanino, with a weird juice recipe.

Get yourself a stick blender, ideal for things like that & soups, with a lot less washing up too! BTW, mashed or roughly blitzed cooked cauli makes a lovely & different topping for cottage or shepherd's pie too.

oo I agree there I normally put a couple of stone on in the past when quit ! But the dessert flavours stop it ! Or it could be the fact I never have the bloody thing out of my mouth .... Clearo that is before any lewdcomments .....

Oh, I love my slow cooker - been living out of one for a couple of years now - fantastic stuff comes out of it.

People thought I was mad asking for a slow cooker for a wedding present.

Don't use it much these days as work from home and fussy kids, but boy was it handy pre-children and out at work all day. Coming home to a lovely smell and dinner almost cooked was fantastic. May have to dig it out again.

I got myself a soup maker. One like a kettle, its brilliant. 21 minutes and perfectly cooked cream of vegetable soup. Even took it to Beavers for them to make soup. Quite interesting as they had to bring in one vegetable so had no idea what it was going to taste like.

I hate it when a favorite piece of kitchen equipment breaks.

Pepperty I'd worry about you even with a stick blender.

I use it every day for lunches and other things so I need it. A stick blender by the way just chops. It doesn't grate or slice and a v-slicer is way too much of a health hazard
