Jane ... The first time I set mine up (3 x 2mm silica with 3/4 wraps of 0.2 Kanthal giving 1.5 ohms), I cut the wicks at about 2mm from the edge of the chamber. When I filled the tank and screwed in the base, I noticed that the wicks disappeared into the slots and the juice came pouring out of the air hole ... I stripped it down and recoiled as before but this time I cut the wicks so that they almost reached down to the base threads (about 5 mm long). I then refilled the tank and screwed on the base and everything worked perfectly with no leaks, gurgles or dry hits. I find that the draw is a little airy for my liking but other than that it is a fantastic vape and so easy to set up and refill. One thing that I have noticed and needs watching is that when screwing the little cap onto the chamber (the bit with the two slots), you need to hold the chamber tightly as it is prone to rotating and knocking the wicks off centre. I hope you get the loose screw issue sorted soon and get to enjoy what is a terrific RBA ETA: If you can't get the loose screw issue sorted, place an order with FT for a replacement base ... only about £3 but they won't have them in stock until after Christmas. On two reviews I watched they said about flooding but the flavour wick stopped it from flooding that's they only reason I used one. Also when I fill the tank and screw together it gives an optical illusion to me that the wicks have sucked in but when opened back up all is fine When I cut the wicks at 2mm they did actually disappear inside the slots but this may have been due to the chamber rotating slightly when I screwed on the chamber cap. Leaving them at 5mm and holding the chamber when screwing in the cap is belt and braces I know, but prevents any possibility of it happening again. I have had no flooding or leaking issues with the recommended 3 x 2mm wicks ... no flavour wick needed. A great vape at 9 watts but a little airy in my opinion so I may experiment with a little rolled up mesh in the air hole to tighten up the draw.

I must say I may buy another as it's quite good for the price and ease of use

I might send mine back icon_shoppingm
It floods even with 3 x 2.5mm wicks and doesn't even begin to draw with a flavour wick on top of that...
Any ideas folks?

Tested for hot spots.....bunged my deck cap on and did as @freefromsmoking said and left 5mm wicks. Filled up (put vaseline on the threads - helps no end) - sorted Thanks guys

I have none of the tight threading issues with the tank section that some of you have reported and the build quality (other than the chromed brass deck) is top notch ... an absolutely fantastic RBA and a steal at £13.

So what's your secret @freefromsmoking...what proportion of vg/pg are you using? No big secret Jane ... just set up as recommended with 3 x 2mm silica placed on top of each other in the slots then screw on the cap tightly while holding the chamber steady. Fill up to the little O ring and screw in the base. One thing that I have just thought of which could cause flooding is that you need to be careful when raising the chamber after fitting your coil ... do it very slowly until you feel the O ring snick into the slot ... it is very easy to pull it up too far if you are not careful. I am using 50/50 PG/VG as usual
