I think many people have already contacted MEPs and MPs with varying degrees of success. There is no way I will alter my Labour or Green MEP's mind. My Conservative and LibDem MEPs are on our side. I am in constant touch with my MP. Still I feel that I'm banging my head on a brick wall. We should be reaching out to new people instead of always preaching to the converted. Anyone in these forums who has been vaping for more than a few months has probably already contacted MEPs/MPs or they have no intention of ever being proactive. Sorry for venting but I find the whole thing more than frustrating and being told the same stuff over and over and over again does not help. If what we are doing isn't working maybe it is time to try something else.

Can anyone honestly see each of the member states of the EU denying it's citizens the God given rights of freedom of speech and right of assembly? ... it will never happen ... the oppressions of Hitler's Third Reich and Stalin's USSR will never again be countenanced or tolerated in a modern Europe.

We need to keep telling anyone/everyone we can, even if they have already Indicated support. At the end it will be the loudest voice who wins, we have the numbers but only if We ALL use our voices. People power is more effective today than it has ever been. This is a war of attrition and the other side will continue to fund it to the bitter end, So we need to keep working at it until they decide they just can't keep funding the attacks. Be in no doubt that the more effective we are the longer the battle will last.

The last thing they want is to lose our votes at the next election. markm is right, we have the loudest voice, if not the most powerful in terms of financial backing, but we must all shout. I will be emailing the OP to my MEP and MP, asking for their comments on this outrageous infringement of my liberty and freedom of speech. What the hell do they think they are doing!?

Unfortunately I can see this happen, @ freefromsmoking. Some of those for TC are so fanatical it is scary to think how far they will go. The proposals are an eye opener for any of the doubters. It is inconceivable how it was even considered a good idea to include anything like that, never mind think of it in the first place. It demonstrates their mentality. Unfortunately they are voting on party lines not their individual views Granted, but surely if we make enough noise the parties will have to sit up and take notice. What the hell do they think they are doing!?I think this is something we all should be doing even if we have already contacted our MEPs/MP before. They need to know that this is totally unacceptable. I was very pleased to see some vendors becoming proactive and sending emails to inform their customers about what is happening and asking them to sign the petition at secure.avaaz.org/en/petition/The_European_Parliament_Save_electronic_cigarettes_from_excessive_EU_regulation/ Everyone needs to make sure they sign this. Guys, this is so important. If this happens there will be no new shiny mods, no refillable atties, no flavours of juice to chose from, no DIY because you won't be able to get the nicotine except on the black market and that route will put your health at risk, no forums etc. etc. Sign the petitions, get on Twitter and spread the word and write to your MEPs/MP whenever you hear anything you don't agree with. We all need to come together to make sure decisions are made with our health as top priority.
