I've just spent 2 days setting up my Epson SX515W all-in-one wifi on Windows 7 64-bit - there's no all-in-one installation for it, been tearing my hair out. Now I can't find the solicitor's form that I'm s'posed to be printing, signing, scanning and emailing... and am months overdue I've never ever had a printer that didn't cause problems, but for my friend Jeff I buy basic Epsons and he loves them even tho he's a technophobe. That price for 2 cartridges is mind-blowing, MM I've just bought some cheap carts but have put that CISS kit on my Watch List, Camper. If I can fill a clearo can I fill a printer cart OK? scylla

Hi Scyll, I know the original Lexmark carts are very expensive but I used them to photograph all my art work - that was years ago now. Must admit the colours are sill bright and stable as the day I did them and the carts did last a long time I only decided to try the Ink Shop over the road because I intend to buy new printer etc when I move. (May have some news on that this week!!!) As the Ink Shop black one worked okay, thought I would do the colour one as well - grr. So now I have no printer working at all!! And a fair amount of printing to do albeit only black. The new carts did not arrive on Saturday as I was hoping, so maybe tomorrow now? MM xx

mag i was only showing them as an example as it was the first ones i came accross when i ebay searched as theirs much better ones out their for the money if you wanted an epson.
scyl theyre a doddle to fill, just put the blank carts in the printer and fil the big containers up, you can also buy the empty cartridges too.
ive bought epson printers for the last 25 years now and cant fault them really

Hi Scyll, Re move - at long last I shall be picking up the keys to new flat next week. Not that I've viewed it yet but it is where I want to be and have friends there. They have been keeping me updated on it. I know the flats and they are all more or less the same. The H.A. is happy too - they have a new tenant without any problems. I shall once again be on the top floor (which in all honesty I prefer) but only two floor up and there is a LIFT and plus I get an extra window - got to be good.
Now it's down to fitting a huge amount into a pint pot - well you know what I mean!!.
Now I must start a new thread for Camperman and all. MM

CAMPERMAN - I still have not received the Lexmark Ink Cartridges - been ringing them everyday.
They said the delivery man tried to deliver last Monday and put a note through my door. Rubbish!!! They cannot get up to my flat without coming through Security door, which would have to be buzzed for entry, then walk up three flights of stairs to my front door. Nothing put through my letterbox, did not ring the doorbell - I have been in all day everyday.
Anyway, I rang Lexmark again just now - to say still nothing received. The lady said it seemed as though I am not going to receive them!!! She is refunding my payment.
Camperman, could you recommend a new printer for me - a simple affair for my simple, aged brain!! I will stay away from Lexmark!! I will not have to print high quality stuff now.
I would prefer to buy one from the retail outlets on the industrial estate - all the big names are there. Rather than buy online - at least I can kick a real life person.
It would have to be on the small side as I don't think I will have much room in new place. Do those continuous Ink thingies take up much room?
Hoping you (or anyone else) can advise. Cheers MM

Mag I'll check a few out for you later, what sort of budget are you looking at and are you wanting to use a CISS tank system with it and also are you looking for a 3 in one or just a printer on it's own ?

What's a CSS...
I got through a few printers when my HP packed up the other year...
Now have an Epson SX (I think) 4000 or something I picked up from the charity shop for £12...
Works fine so long as I have word on my mac...
Get carts from ebay or wherever's cheapest...they have to be kept cold so I keep them by the window in the kitchen......
Epson's are the way to go hun...seriously....ebay should be fine

Hi Camper, what is a 3 in one? I do have an Epsom Perfection V30 scanner (stand alone) which is fine. Can send direct to printer.
The link in #23 looks too bulky for me. Not really sure how much space I will have in my new flat.
I just want it to print direct from my computer A4 (nothing bigger) and to print on glossy photo paper.
Price: don't really have any idea but I am not looking for a bargain cheapy. Hope this helps.
NOW! my microwave oven has conked out!! Why can't these things wait until I've moved when I know what space I have. Don't know if it's just the fuse - I've looked at manual but it doesn't say anything about changing the fuse. Maybe sealed.
Cheerss MM

It prints, scans (which copies to a file on your computer), and "copies" (ie, scans to a print-out) Oh no! I do hope it's only the fuse I paid nearly £50 to have a new light put in my combo about a year ago And then it soon conked out entirely and had to be replaced scylla
