Hi everyone, I joined the forum via a link from eBay. I'd heard about e-cigs before, but never really gave them much thought. Now i'm giving up smoking baccy (around 10 Golden Virginia rollies per day), i'm strongly considering e-cigs. My knowledge of e-cigs is very limited. So far i've had a browse round a few websites. I had a look around the shops to find them (I was hoping to have a good look at it before I brought), but they don't seem widely available. I ended up buying a disposable 'Jasper' one from a garage (around £6) which was ok, but fairly pricey for how long it lasted. So now i'm looking to buy one for the longer-term, and one that works out good value for money. From what i've read in the beginners section so far, i'm inclining towards the 'mini' rather than the 'super mini'. Plus, i'd prefer one that looked like a cigarette. Any recommendations?

Hi Hunter & welcome Normally we would try & put folks off choosing a mini or super-mini as due to their size, a heavy smoker would be having to recharge the batteries every couple of hours. However, as you are a relatively light smoker, you shouldn't have too much of a problem with a mini. Off to see what best deals I can find for you

OK, I think the best deal I can find you at the moment is for the 510 starter kit from Vape escape @ £21.99 (use discount code allabout for 10% off). However it is only in black, so won't look like a real cig - www.vapeescape.co.uk/510-starter-kit~1I'll keep looking to see what else I can find & hopefully some others will add their thoughts/suggestions

Welcome to the All About, Ecighunter. Many of us started with cigarette resembling minis, but soon switched to larger and longer lasting batteries. Still though, a mini is a good e-cigarette.

Thanks all for your warm welcome. That's looks ideal Chrissie! Cheers for the suggestions. Does the button make much of a difference compared to automatic ones?

No, the button just activates the battery as you draw. Just as easy to use.

There aren't many non-button ones on the market now. Usually you can take a longer drag with a button, but press it a second or so before you puff If by any chance you don't get on with your first model, remember you've been advised as a light smoker - you can get more oomph out of bigger models That's not to say you won't get on fine, I started out (as you will know if you read my screed ) before the big batteries were available and the little darlings got me off the weed scylla
