Hunter, the button is actually a blessing You can press it fo a couple of seconds before taking a drag to get the the atomiser heated up - then just press & hold when taking a drag I completely agree with Jerry, Scylla & everyone else. You would find something like the Riva or Ego to perform better but it is a tad bulkier & looks more like a cigar than a cigarette. However, the 510 is a good step up from the disposable you bought

I think i'd be daft not to take your sound advice there. Whilst i'm a 'light smoker' most of the time, other times i'm not (e.g. sitting on the outside terrace at the local pub), so I guess it would probably wise for me to get something with a bit more ooomph, as Scylla suggests. What's the main difference between a Riva and an Ego? And is this a good deal? e-cigz.co.uk/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=76

Hunter, you wont regret going for a larger e-cig There isn't much difference between the Ego & the Riva. The Riva is an Ego clone made by a different factory. I'm certain I can find you a better deal than that - of to search

That looks great. Cheers. I've read a few posts mentioning 'cartomisers'. In what way are they different from atomisers? And what difference do they make to the hit? Also, from what I can gather, refilling can potentially be a bit messy if dealing with bottles of liquid. Is it possible to buy pre-filled Riva cartridges which just slot in instead?

Yes, it is possible to buy prefilled Riva (510) cartridges, but not very economical in the long run. Cartomisers are an alternative to the separate atomiser/cartridge that come with a Riva. Once you master the filling of a cartomiser they become the easiest and most economical method of the options available. Dealing with e-liquid does involve a common sense approach with regard to safety, but it's nothing like as messy or frightening as it can first appear.

Cartomisers are cartridges with the atomiser inside them. They are considered as disposable but can be refilled & can last several days/weeks. They hold more juice than a cartridge & are a lot cheaper than atomisers. As for more hit, you get that from using a higher PG juice (rather than a high content VG juice). Plus also by using lower reistance cartomisers/atomisers. However, it's no longer recommended to use very Low resistance (LR) atomisers on a Riva. Lol, I've maybe blinded you with too much info there, so more than happy to go through it in a bit more detail. Or someone else may be able to explain it better Yes, a few sellers do still sell prefilled cartridges. However, they work out far more expensive than reffilling with juice - plus you are very limited on flavours.

Hunter, I sincerely recommend that you "just get started". If you buy the Riva kit with juice that Chrissie recommended, it will get you familiarised. If you have any problem with keeping the cartridges (carts) vaping nicely, you can drip 2-3 drops straight into the atomiser, very fuss-free. If you don't wean yourself off nicotine and e-cigs altogether PDQ, then you can venture into cartomisers, clearomisers, Buds, Smokymizers, big battery mods, variable voltages, Uncle Tom Cobbley and all You're going to have to refresh your supply of "accessories" anyway, so you might as well keep it simple at the start. That's wot I think, anyway scylla

Glad you've taken the plunge, Hunter Another thing - if you find you don't like your juices you can sell or swap them in the Classifieds here If you're anything like most of us your tastes will change over time, a flavour you hated you may grow to love and vice versa. scylla

Hunter, Royal Mail willing, you should get your kit tomorrow - Jason, like so many of the other brilliant suppliers that post here, usually ships same day as order

Hi Ecighunter and thanks for your order. I can confirm that that all yesterdays orders were in Royal Mails hands for 3.30pm and all are next day delivery, so hopefully you should be vaping away later today.

Hunter, you don't have to wait until a battery is fully charged to give it a try - you can start on one while the other continues till the light says "charged", then swap. (Am always anxious for the first feedback ) scylla
