This is a boost board. Boost circuit output voltage should be above input voltage. For instance, the PTN04050c boost converter output voltage should be at least 0.5v over the input voltage. Although some boost converters can, efficiency would suffer. Evolv chose to limit the DNA output to 4 volts minimum. I had the beta versions of the DNA 20 which would go as low as 3.1 volts but they rectified that on the official release version.

Thanks for that, I will at some point get round to making my own box mod that will side mount a kayfun, will either kick or DNA it.

Mark maybe this 100 W APV will be enough, don't know the cost or if you need NASA spec batteries.

They say 2x 18650 so I would assume they are stacked, a pair of them and a .5ohm coil 
would give the 100w result. I tried that New years eve, it was ..........interesting.

Yea stacked makes sense, I only see the point if these if you want to try Rip-Trippers more complicated and higher R coils, I use genis unless out and about so set the power when coiling.

And much more satisfying. Unless you are interested in optimising all the
Various elements then high W are just going to result in horrible dry hits.
