Hi xs2man,noticed your post on Sony VTC 4,s.Are they good? I was going to buy a couple for my SVD,are they unprotected? I believe unprotected is the best for VV-VW,looking at Forums. I met a chap at the Birmingham BBC meet who said the Sony VTCs were incredible. I might look into them myself in a few months. (comment.... I think he liked them due to the amp rating... that bit is of little interest to me in the real world). I use Panasonics in VV/VW and AWs for all else.

Thanks for that dj,s.So are the Sony VTC,s ok to use on my SVD? If I was ordering online,i would order the Efest 18650,s or the AW IMR ones, but im working down south and there,s a Vape shop nearby, and they sell the Sony VTC 4,s.It just makes it easy for me going in there and buying them.

If it's easier, then its a no brainer (to me).
I am on my first cycle with the VTC4's, in that I only put them in my DNA20 last night. Still about 1/2 the battery left according to the power indicator.
The GCR's lasted a full 48 hours in this mod though, so they look to have similar battery life, for similar wattage / resistance coils.
I can update when the battery actually runs out, but realistically, it's battery life that's important to me. The only reason I actually went for the VTC 4's is for the amp rating. Not that I think I will get anywhere near it, but at least if this device (or a future DNA30 device) is capable of requiring it, I would like to know I have the headroom, should I wish to go there. So probably not required for the SVD. I had the 3400 mAh NCR18650B in my Vamo, and it had great battery life.

Thanks folks, yep I probably was making it a bit too confusing for myself, but I am a bit OCD & wanted to make sure I knew vaguely what I was doing.. I'm sure there's a good reason why mechanical mods are listed as being for 'advanced users' on most websites, and I'm definitely not that..! So just wanted to get a basic understanding of how it all works, including battery types & resistance, so I could feel safe enough venturing into new vaping territory Everyone's advice has been really helpful with that, as well as some of the sort-of 'here's how it all works' stylee forum posts that some kind folks have linked me to. I just had a couple more brain-glitches of confusion so used this thread for that. Anyway I'm glad that it seems I landed on my feet (unusually!) with the right batteries, and it's good to know how & why to be careful (esp. with the IMR info, thanks). Cheeries!

Hey Jane, I replied in the 'advice about decent vaper' thread cos thought it was less relevant to batteries & more to my prev. question.. I had a bit of trouble when I first came here finding the info I needed so I thought I'd try & be careful & keep info in the relevant places.. Thanks though, all is good Check out http://allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/35140/captain-vapers-advice-decent-vaper?page=3&scrollTo=618695 A few more hours & I'll be modded right up yay!!
