Looking for something similar to a SVD/Lavatube

Yes! Why not. I really, really like mine. I am just regretting going on about it if folk are finding it only so-so.

Yes, it's silver.  It's ok, just prefer the feel of the zmax, and as I have 2 of them with another on the slowboat, the SID won't get much use for now, but Mr Lairey has decided he likes the zmax too, so i may be able to persuade him to like the SID even more  Don't regret your recommendation though, there's nothing wrong with it at all, just not a favourite

Ah don't stress djs, any recommendation is a good recommendation. I may actually like something more light weight, especially if I'm out and about. My SVD is quite cumbersome to carry about.

I decided to be daring and order a black one. I also bought a new drip tip to go with it

Well...as warned the SID is totally naff. Has nowhere near the power of my SVD even when I have it at the same setting. Wouldn't recommend the SID to anyone lol.

did you get a zmax as well hissie?

Before buying a SID I'd read lots of reports of them cutting out for no apparent reason. Several people on AAEC told me they had not had this problem so I bought one.

It's a nightmare. It cuts out and the battery has to be unscrewed and reconnected for it to work again.

I would never use it as an out & about device. It just gets used at home when rotating flavours.

Well I love my SID, had it for a couple of weeks now and no cut out problems at all. It is my first mod so nothing to compare it to. I wonder if the problems some peeps are having are to do with battery size?

I've cleaned the battery contacts and tried flat & button top batteries without success.

Do those of you that are satisfied with SID use them in 18650 mode?

Hi, what I meant 2 say was the 18650 battery type/make size, I'm using Panasonic 3400 mah which are slightly larger than some 18650s

Yes. Both mine are used in 18650 mode.

Have you contacted the seller to ask them to sort it?

No Jerri I went into the purchase with low expectations. At the time it was all I had apart from my Evod starter kit and I was reluctant to be without it despite the fault.

Been thinking about how I use it. Now I have more devices it tends to get used in rotation with the others. I think it might be temperature related as it seems to happen when I've found a flavour I like and have vaped so much that the tank gets very warm.

I'm happy to keep it but won't buy another.
