Just got some Dulce de Leche concentrate. I had thought it was just like a sweetener and could add a drop or so to my clearo to jazz up a flavour. But now I see it is a concentrate. Whats the best to do with it? I just want to add a bit to an already made mix. Perhaps I could make a flavouring with very little nic base and then drop it into my clearo with some pre prepared juice? I've got a 10ml mix of Vanilla which is a bit "off" for my tastes, so could I add say 20% D de L to it to see how it works? Any suggestions welcomed.

DdL adds sweetness and creaminess. It gets it's name from a dish made by cooking a tin of condensed milk. So it's good for 'smoothing out' a sharp juice or adding some creaminess to something that tastes a little 'thin'.
20% is too high though - start at no more than 5% and see how you get on

Thanks, but can you suggest a non nic mix recipe with proportions of PG/VG for a 10ml quantity? What I'd like to achieve is a 10ml bottle of D d L flavouring which I could add drop by drop to my clearo in the same way as I sometimes add a ready mix sweetener, rather than make any particular mix which would mean adding D d L as an additional flavouring ingredient. Sorry, it is quite hard to explain.

Sorry, it is quite hard to explain. It's ok I understand what you mean. It would depend on your preferred PG/VG ratio, but as an example: PG 5ml VG 4ml DdL 1ml would give you a 60/40 mix at 10% zero nic

Gorgeous added to custard flavours. Right now I'm vaping home made chocolate custard with a touch of ddl. 20% vanilla custard 4% chocolate 4% ddl
Ends up a bit like really rich creamy hot chocolate.

I didn't know what to do with my dulce de leche either emmita, what to mix it with or how much, so what I did was I made up a 10ml bottle at 20% (my normal percentage for mixes) and then just added a little bit of that mix in a tank with another flavour. Did it with several different flavours, and yes it does smooth out the other flavours and makes them a little more creamy. So I now know that if I want a particular flavour to be more creamy and/or smoother then when I mix up that flavour again I can add a small percentage of the dulce de leche into the mix. Start off quite low in the percentage rate but keep my 10ml bottle of 20% dulce de leche handy in case I want to add a bit more, until I know exactly what percentage of dulce de leche to add in the future for that particular flavour. If that makes any sense

Yes it does make sense toots, does it need steeping when you make up your 10ml of 20% D de L? Or is it useable right away?

yes, i was wondering on this, when I made up my PVC custards I used french vanilla (TPA) instead of french vanilla deluxe and its not that creamy? wondering if a spit spot of dulce de leche might gee it up?

Or Vanillin Crystals Pepperty, they're more creamy than D de L ( I think ) if you don't want to use TPA's FVD . . . D de L is also very nice added to some fruits, lovely with Raspberry for a Raspberry Ripple type flavour.

...I have a crate of concentrates ...but i DON'T HAVE vanillin crystals. so NO I dont want to have to buy another concentrate until this time next year my kids came home and laughed at my new vape box -- its tool box sized and jammed to hilt, I felt ashamed!! p.s I now have tpa's FVD ...I just dont want to waste the custard I've got made up (that I don't like too much) so I shall try chucking a few things at it

I'm also considering getting some Vanillin, I see the product on Amazon is Vanillin Powder - same as crystals? And how do you use that, dissolve in PG as you would with Stevia Sweetener? If so, what sort of quantity to say 10ml of PG?

I steeped it, but I haven't a clue how long it needs steeping for coz I just left it in the cupboard for quite a while not knowing at first what to do with it. I suppose a couple of weeks would do the trick, but really

If so, what sort of quantity to say 10ml of PG? The Crystals come through in a powdered form, certainly the stuff I've bought has emmita, so I'd think it just another way of describing the product. TPA advise using 10% of it in a bottle . . . in reality I put a modestly heaped teaspoon in a mixing cup, add enough PG to dilute it down, then syringe up into a bottle. Then top up with plain PG if there's still room to spare - how that works out percentage wise I've not a clue, but it works well enough for me.
