Auch I do know what they are! How the hell do you get it from that into a wee bottle neck? It's that thick it kinda blocks on the way through my funnel.

All looks good to me rednutt . . . have you had a lick of the Capella Dutch Choc Mint, to see if there's more ' mintyness ' coming through on the taste? I'd probably go for 3% Peppermint if there isn't, less of the Koolada . . . then try it in 3 weeks time. You can always add more, but you can't take it out. Hmmmm. Ok lastnight I made a 5ml sample containing approx 12% (0.6ml)Dutch choc mint, 5% (0.25ml) peppermint and 1 drop of koolada to approx 1.67ml 54mg pg nic and 2.5ml vg. Tried a wee bit and thought it was really weak so I added more drops of choc and mint ( probably a newbie mistake). I'm not getting a mint flavour coming through. So this morning before I went to work I did 5ml peppermint with 20% and that too is really weak. I tasted the Capella Dutch choc mint flavouring ewww it's bitter but definitely chocolate. Can't really taste the mint but it had a cool feeling on the tongue. The Capella peppermint flavour smells just like polo mints, why doesn't it taste like it when mixed? Maybe my mouth is just dead haha. Maybe I'm just expecting too much but I did think the mint would be ready straight away. Do people add more than 20% flavour? Also I found it really difficult (impossible actually) to extract the vg out the bottle using a syringe so I decanted some in to a 10ml bottle and sat in a bowl of hot water and was able to get it into the syringe from there. What do you guys do? Sorry for the mega questions x It does take time for flavours to develop and the problem with adding too much extra flavour immediately, is that when it does, you can have overpowered the original concentrate flavours. That said, I'm not a fan of Capella mint flavours, I found them rather weak and the taste peaked off really quickly. Dilute your VG down with some Vodka in a smaller bottle rednutt, you'll find it easier to use that way - though I still always pour some off into a cup and syringe it up from there.

This has to be the perfect thread to read on the very day I'm stepping into DIY mixing. I've been thinking about it for ages but wasn't sure which flavours to start with. I'm just about to order the gold mixing kit from the alchemists cupboard and tjuice concentrates for red Astaire and jack the ripple. I've read all the mixing advice, perused the calculator and washed and sterilised all my old bottles. One question remains, how long should I steep the above flavours? I know I've read it somewhere but can't find it again. I hope your mixing is going well rednutt! EDT Catastrophe! Red Astaire is out of stock, don't want to pay 2 lots of postage on the concentrates so just going to have to sit on my hands and admire the mixing kit... Red Astaire and other t-juice concentrates in stock here - They also sell capella in a choice of 5ml, 10ml or 20ml bottles. www.justvape247.com/t-juice-concentrates-59-c.aspThankyou sammy13, just placed an order

It's a fact I guess rednutt, that some ranges are better at some flavours than others, you'll be hard put to find a nicer Vanilla Custard or Chocolate than Capella make . . . unfortunately you don't know, until you've tried. But Shopping Opportunities are always good.

The Choc mint I would class as a dessert type flavour and personally, would give it about 3+ weeks to steep before adding more of anything. I would expect the peppermint to be good at around 15% and I'd give it 2+ days to steep. Some flavours actually lose taste if you overdo the % concentrate added. I know it's really hard with your first mixes, not to jump in and taste them straight away, but it can be a bit disheartening if they don't live up to expectations from the off.
As for VG, I decant about 90ml into a 100ml bottle and top up with a splash of vodka, lid on and give it a good old shake. You'll never get even diluted VG up a small 18g needle, you'll need a 14g (I think I've got that the right way round) ???

Agreed lairey . . . though I don't bother with needles for anything, VG diluted or otherwise I find easiest to pour some off, then just syringe up.

I've got the muscles to prove it I think I will need to try the vodka. When I bought the needles I was bamboozled by all the sizes. Smaller number bigger hole?
