I've been using Papillon organic from house of liquid for pas three weeks, truly it has the closest taste to tobacco that i have ever tried. i would say it is really addictive . the only problem i have been experiencing is after two times refiling my tank i have to change the atomizer. i was wondering if anybody faced the same problem? any solution ?

Hi hoss yup HOL liquids will go through coils like no ones business , it's the steeped tobacco method they use , amazing eliquids though.

It depends on set up , if it's an rebuildable dripper or rebuildable tank then you can replace wicks and dry burn the coils easily. What are you using?

I have to dry burn and replace my wicks probably every 3 days when using the 'heavier ' HOL liquids.

With gunky juices it is best to use a system where it is easy to clean the coil. Dry burning is the best way to clear the stuff that is tasting burnt. I find it really easy to do with my iClear16s. Many people go down the rebuildable route, but I haven't gone that way.

The naturevape system is made in a way that you can change the wick regularly and dry burn the coil at the same time. I recently got my hands on one. Getting the pin out to get to the wick is a bit of a struggle, but otherwise it is an easy way to avoid rebuilding, but get the results anyway.

Apart from binning heads regularly, there is no way to get around this problem that doesn't involve some form of fiddling about. For me the iClears are the least faff, I throw in a new head and then clean and leave to dry the old one. Been doing it for so long it takes me very little time and I have enough heads lying about that I do it when I feel like it.

If you are using kangers ( standard coils and the silica wicks) then the following will help. I think most people who use the steeped tobacco juices ( inc myself) either use RDA's or RBA's.

wow , this is a huge help already and i appreciate your advice , one more stupid question , I don't know what RDA and RBA stand for . could you explain that please if you don't mind .

RDA -> Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer (you directly drip e-liquid on the wick/coil, it only holds a few drops at a time, silica , cotton wick is mainly used on these) examples are Igo-l, phoenix, nimbus, v5 etc.


RBA -> incorporate tanks ( like your kangers) which hold 'lots' of eliquid, again these can be taken apart and the coils and wicks built from scratch eg kayfun, Russian etc.

I'm hoping enjay ionian will chime in a be more thorough.

How do you clean your 16,s, ultrasonics bath ?

I run them under a warm tap then leave to dry. Dry burn them and then pop them in a cup and pour boiling water onto them. Leave for 30mins -when I remember, then rinse and leave to dry.

Nothing to add without confusing with details! Nice summary.

I haven't used any of the Kanger dual coil systems, but I believe you can rebuild your own coils in them should you wish. And everything I hear about the naturevape pro system is positive - if you love juice that gunks up a coil, it might be worth thinking about investing in something like that. You can then change the wick easily and inexpensively (just a small roll of cotton wool) every couple of days. I use a very similar setup in most of my rbas.

Dry burning any coil that goes through a rubber insulator runs the risk of burning the rubber and that tastes rank. I find the kayfun is good as a tank for vaping gunky juice, dead easy to clean the coil and rewick in minutes. A good coil can last a long long time this way.

You make them yourself and change them as often as you like, bit tricky at first but after a few goes it gets a lot easier. If you're not into building coils yourself you could always visit your local vape shop for assistance or get someone on here to wind some up and send to you.
