My Journey into vaping.............
It was in 2012 that me and the wife decided we wanted to stop smoking and decided we will stop on the 1st of January 2013 so we went ahead and bought our first kit in 2012 ready for 2013.
We went ahead and bought the Jacvapour cigalike kit and when the 1st of January came first thing when we woke up we knew that this was the day.
All batteries fully charged and cartomizers ready filled we was good to go.
What a shock, it was fantastic, it was like the real thing apart from the thousands of toxins killing us.
Whilst all was going well I decided to look into ecigs more and found a website by the name of EECF so I joined there for the same reason as most do....looking for answers for my questions and
Chrissie (God bless her) came to my rescue with my questions which leaded me onto bigger things.
It was then I bought me and the wife our first ever proper vaping kit....that Riva 1100 from Vape Escape
Upon opening it we was like what the hell is this but thanks to
Chrissie and all her help we was not too confused and got it up and running in no time.
The wife was chuffed to bits with it as so was I but me being me wanted more so again...back onto EECF for more questions and yet again
Chrissie with all her expertise advised me on the big boy.
Bigger being the Vamo of which at that time was the hype.
So me being me again went and bought one for myself and OMG was it a big beast.....lol
It vaped so much better than the Riva due to it's VV/VW options.
The wife was still happy with the Riva as she did not like the size of the Vamo.
It was very shortly after I joined AAEC.
So after many weeks too months I ventured into all kinds of stuff to the present day.
Twists
Spinners
Mixing my own juices
eVic
Magneto
Nzonic
Nemesis (clone)
Kick 1
Kick 2
Nautilus (Clone)
Penelope (Clone)
Hercules (Clone)
GP SnP
Sophia
GP Spheroid
Rose v2
The Kayfun familyEven started making my own mods with the DNA20 and DNA30 chip
The list is endless with buying top end stuff............................
Then one day..................
My latest purchase came along,The Rose v2
Loved the thing, the quality was sublime, coiling it was kinda easy and all was good.
I left out the ceramic as I have got a allergy to either ceramic or silica BUT decided to try to eliminate one of the two so put the ceramic in and tried it and low and behold my breathing problem started coming back so I can only presume it is ceramic that causes the problem...why I ain't got a clue.
Out of anger due to me not being able to use the Rose atty with a ceramic I thought to myself fuc* it, fuc* all this expensive atty stuff and went to work....fuming with anger.
Next day all calmed down now I had a quick vape of the wife’s Spinner and Davide combo as I could not be bothered to get mine and I was very surprised how nice it was even though I don't really like Red Astaire flavour.........So I had a brain surge and thought I would do some testing.
Now comes the testing part.........I got the Nemesis fitted with a Kick 2
I cleaned and re-coiled a Mini Davide @ 1.8 ohms
I cleaned and re-coiled the Spheroid @ 1.8 ohms
Now onto the testing.........Lets see how good a Spheroid is compared to a cheapo....I got the nemy and vaped the Davide.....quite nice and pleasantly surprised
I got the nemy and vaped the Spheroid....used to it so I could not really tell any difference but slightly better taste than the Davide but less vapour
I got the Provari and vaped the Davide.....Very nice indeed, lots more flavour after about 5mins when the tank settled and crap loads of vapour
I got the Provari and vaped the Spheroid.... Again very nice indeed but so damn close to the Davide I was shocked, also less vapour
Changed the Batteries on the Provari from Efest too AW IMR and the Davide got even better so did the Spheroid (very very slightly though, how I don't know)....only reason I done this was because Provari recommend using them
So I sat there thinking this is very strange, maybe I have a Davide that is made by GP?
So further testing and tried..........Kanger protank 2 and same results but a tad bit better so now the Kanger is pushing out more vapour than the Spheroid and the taste is getting very close.
All this was very strange so I decided to try other basic clearos/tanks....basically the Davide and Kanger range (single coil as I didn't have any dual coil ones at the time) and the same result came out each time, better vapour but a fraction less flavour as the Spheroid has settled in nicely now.
BTW I did not know this at the time of testing the Rose but when I tested the Rose without ceramic it was lovely (apart from when I tried it with the ceramic) but....wait for it...........now that I have tested this morning the basic clearos I am shocked to say they imo are close to the Rose, maybe not 100% in the taste department but they are close.
So onto further testing, this time with Dual coil cheapos........
I bought a Kanger Aerotank – Kanger Mini Protank 3 – Aspire Nautilus BDC...all these being much less in costs than the high end stuff.
WoW....what can I say, all of them performed fantastic, easily passed my expectations and it looks like cheapo clearomizers have come a long way.
Vapour = Fantastic
Flavour = Fantastic
Ease of use = No brainer, pop a head in and good to go
So after all this testing I have come to the conclusion that my mind has been smoke screened with shiny's....yes shiny's.....and I forgot that when buying all the top end stuff the cheapo stuff was getting more advanced every single day and now they have got to a point that they are just as good as the top end gear and in some cases even better.
If the above cheapo's can produce just as much vapour (and on most occasions more) than the top end stuff, and can produce a very very close if not same flavour as the top end stuff why do I need top end stuff anymore? I don't.
So with all this in mind it just told me all I need is:A decent battery (not the cheapest I know but the Provari is a fantastic PV) or a MVP 2 seems very popular.
And some cheap and flavoursome clearos like the Kanger Aerotank – Kanger Mini Protank 3 – Aspire Nautilus BDC etc etc
Yes they are duel coil and they are not gonna be faff free when it comes to making the coils but I have gone past the "You must spend £XXX for a good vape" and am going back to basics as the cheapo clearomizers have come a long way and are producing a fantastic vape and plumes of vapour.
NOTE: If you have a ultrasonic cleaner bung the pre-made head in there, dry it off with a bit of tissue and dry burn it, good as new.
But even then due to the costs or pre-made coils as they have came a long way in the quality department I may even just buy pre-made and not make my own coils, either which way it's a lot less expensive than buying stinkies.
So now my motto now is you don't need to spend £XXX for a good vape, the cheapo's can be just as good and maybe even better in some aspects compared to the high end stuff.
Please Please do not take this post the wrong way, it's just my view of things and for those who wish too and are happy to continue too buy top end stuff then go for it, nothing wrong with buying something that pleases you.....life’s to short to not be happy.
My main reason for this post was for new members and not so new members is that if you see posts with OMG I would love that but cannot afford it and the reviews praise it so much DO NOT despair as the basic clearomizers out there have come a long way and are like I said above just as good and in some aspects better so you do not need to worry about spending loads of money for a good vape anymore.
Looking for a good vape and flavour has now finally got to a point that most cheap clearomizers will compete with the best of high end gear out there.
So now there is no need to worry about buying top end stuff for a good vaping experience as the future of cheap vaping equipment is now here.
Hope this helps you and your wallet and most of all your health.
Update: OMG these cheapo clearo's are rocking once the tank sets in, just re-fiilled one with Fluid and it's gorgoeus in flavour and vape....loving it.
Kanger and Aspire i love you!!!
Happy vaping
