I don't think I've ever had a dumbo. I currently have 2 female teenagers that I adopted from gumtree in a huge cage that can hold about 5 rats You would know if you had a dumbo with its distinctive ears on the side of their head, most friendly pets ever but lifespan too short Och I know...I had one die a few weeks ago in my arms. Choking on her baytril. Had spent £90+ on antibiotics for her at the vets (paid for by refund from electric). But the first ones I had a lasted a good wee while and Bob lasted to 3.5 years (killed by a facial tumour:(). He had to have his claws clipped for the last 6 months at regular intervals as he got HLD with old age but on a one level large cage was perfectly happy if always a little grumpy. I bunged him in the hospital cage when he first got HLD. He got so depressed poor boy. I had to get him a bigger cage . At least when Dorcas (the last one to die) got sick the vets gave me a new cage for when they get HLD with low platforms etc
