www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-27035630While I don't rejoice at anyone losing their jobs, it's proof of the way things are going. My main fear is that BigT are going to get more desperate and employ sneakier tactics to blacken us, and promote their own semi-useless and overpriced brands of e-cigs to regain their obscene profits.

It's a sad story. They are moving to Poland. The home of Inawera; look it up Imperial Tobacco - you might learn something about e-cigs.
I hate these stories, lose-lose really for the people in the UK, regardless of the product.

It is the government all over .... I don't want to turn this into a "whose fault is it?" argument, but the price of cigarettes is utterly obscene ....
I feel sorry for the people losing their jobs, though.

As an ex-smoker of Lambert & Butler cigarettes I just knew I was keeping that company afloat I wonder if other tobacco companies will be making similar decisions due to "declining sales" Hmmmm, wonder why their sales have been in decline - now, could it be something to do with those pesty little e-ciggy thingies sprouting up all over the world Note to all the 'Health departments & anti-tobacco lobbyists' - yeah you lot, are you listening to this eh, declining cigarette sales, yep, isn't that what you were supposed to be all about, well you got it now and why exactly is that, yep it's down to all the millions of people switching to e-cigs so now stop harping on about e-cigs being a 'gateway to smoking' amongst other attacks on our e-cigs, just leave us alone coz we're doing fine without you lot interfering Tease-smiley And Yep, I do of course feel sorry for all the people losing their jobs, however I can't help but like that statement with 'declining sales' in it, as it says it all really.

Am i the only one who doesnt feel sorry for these people losing there jobs. The way i see it is they are dealers in death. Would you feel sorry for the local crack dealer being put out of business of course you wouldnt. Just because one is legal and the other is not makes no difference they both kill. A job is a job though, if I had to work on a cigarette factory to feed my family I'd be there in a flash. Vaping away on the line Sent from my GT-I9300 using proboards

I'm with @tubthumper on this one. It's wrong. Right enough it is a job, and that can be said in a number of ways that make it sound justified. The truth of the matter is that the workers are being paid in blood money. They are feeding their families on money made by killing, their livelihood comes at the cost of millions of peoples lives every year. Some people would say that's a bit extreme, i just see it as the truth. And as was said you don't feel sorry for the dealer who goes broke. That said I would still do it to feed my family if I had no other way, but I would still see it for what it is and I personally wouldn't feel great about it. I feel sorry for people losing jobs in any industry, absolutely. That is happening all across the uk economy though, and I am kinda glad that big tobacco are suffering. Think how many people have suffered at their hands and it puts it in perspective. The workers will hopefully find jobs as new industries grow and flourish. The company and it's board of directors deserve all they get... I alwayd wonder how many of them use the products they produce?

Imperial Tobacco have been closing factories for years. Long before e-cigs were ever invented. link

Don't feel so smug about the decline in cigarette sales folks ... HMRC will recoup the loss of revenue by taxing ecig products at the same exorbitant level as tobacco products once the Government get around to implementing legislation.
