mvp ??s

i fancy getting an mvp2 but have a couple of questions.
can i charge this with an iPhone or Amazon usb plug.
i use boges in a kir fanis tank, are they suitable for the mvp and does anyone have a link to a photo of one with the said tank on.
and lastly who is doing the best deal currently.

can only partly answer you : you can charge them with any mini usb charger and myepack sells them now for £ 34.99 ( the shiny ones are a bit more ) ragjoy

mvp has a mini usb connection - same one I use for charging my kindle, Samsung phone and my itaste vv. I also have an external power pack that's mini usb. So yes, it's handy to charge many things with

With regards to charging using a phone USB plug, check the amp and voltage output carefully. I believe (from the internet, can't guarantee it's accuracy) that an MVP charger is 5v at 1amp. So any 5v charger that gives out 1amp or less should be fine.

MyEpack are almost certainly as cheap as anyone.

If the boge has 510 threading it will work fine on the mvp2. A similar setup is here:

what i really mean is will full usb end of the mvp cable plug into the plug thats supplied with ie the kindle, im guessing it will, im guessing its just a standard usb connection.

just found some info on ukvapers and it seems it really needs to be 1amp at 5v any less and it may not charge, sightly more than 1amp is ok as the mvp draws what it needs ie 1amp rather than just receives more if a higher amp plug is used.

so it seems safe to use the iphone or kindle.
so i think i will get one, i need a back up for my holiday and its as cheap as getting new 18650s for my touchwood and another charger as back up, plus i get too try something new and will use it for work rather than my provari.

ragjoy - yes the USB will fit in a standard USB wall charger. However that does NOT mean it is safe to use. Too much power going in and you will blow up your battery. I would definitely reccommend doing some research so that you fully understand what is happening when charging your device and always always check what you are charging with before using any wall socket based USB charger. My best advice would be to buy a wall charger specifically designed for the MVP.
There have been several news stories of batteries exploding of late, somewhat exaggerated in all cases, but still the last thing we want is your lovely MVP doing a firework display from your fingertips! All the best and be safe, Mikey.

I can't emphasise enough how important it is to fully understand AC and DC. thats the exact reason im asking here now, i had the full experience of a battery blowing inches from my face a couple of years back.
so ive seen the damage it can do, the pics are on here somewhere.
i do have a regulated usb charger but dont trust it (unbranded), i dont trust plugging it in to my new laptop as i would not know for certain what that was putting out, so thats the reason im suggesting the kindle or the iphone as they are at least reputable.
where would i buy a specific wall charger for the mvp?.

From what I have found (can't post links from phone sadly) the MVP doesn't draw the amps from the battery. I don't understand how this would work... Using more than 1A is definitely dangerous, many stories of people attempting this with the idea that it is both safe and will charge your battery faster, but from what I can understand neither of these statements are true. In all cases I can find the battery has heated up, and any indication of heat when charging a l-ion battery is not a good sign. Both a fire hazard and a risk of explosion. Besides that the heat will actually greatly reduce the both the capacity and overall lifespan of the battery. Hope this helps mate.
As for where to buy one, I'm afraid an MVP user is the best person to ask not too sure myself!

i believe the iphone and the kindle are 1amp but i would certainly check first, but thanks for the input and if you find anything that may help please post, im sure the mvp would do a fair amount of damage if charged wrongly and it blew, but lets remember there are many millions of phones out there and many switch chargers around that are ultimately the wrong ones without them blowing up.
im generally one for not using the wrong ones for wrong items so i will double check before buying the mvp, theres no point getting a £35 mod then having to spend £20 on a all singing usb charger just for the mvp.

So long as the wall charger is 5V and 1A I would consider it perfectly safe. No doubt there will be instructions with the MVP that lists the safe operating voltage and current. From
What I can see, iPhone, Kindle and most Samsung wall chargers are all 1A and 5V. Some newer samsung ones are 2.5A though so I would double check if using one.

"We recommend you use high quality USB wall charger with 5v 500ma, this will take about 2½ hours to fully charge your MVP"

I personally charge my 2 from the USB 3.0 port on my Pc, but I never leave it unattended and check it regular.

Had mine a year, gets slung on any charger, car, PC, mobile phone and 2A USB wall chargers, never had problem (yet) of overheating or anything else, but do not leave unattended. Last time I looked I think FT were doing them at about £30 if you dont mind long wait, but myepack at £35 gives good service and quick delivery (thats where mine came from).
