I do most of my own DIY etc.I always paint living room and kitchen white.I have a tiled hearth and plenty of tiles in the kitchen.Whilst walloping the walls i use a small brush and paint over the grout in between the tiles.I think it looks fab and is super quick and easy.My family think i am sad and are not afraid to tell me,i say its canny. What do you guys think? Plus any tips on getting roller blinds down would be great as i am about to have a fit on them! > NNN xx

It's canny Netty. I don't see anything sad about doing that. Sorry, can't help you with the roller blinds, I don't have any.

Not sad at all Netty, I buy those grout pens and always go over the grouting to spruce it up after I've decorated the kitchen or bathroom. Perfectly normal behaviour to me. Roller blinds however are a pain in the butt, as are trying to get ventian blinds back up after you've cleaned them . . . who on earth designed those fiddly bracket things!

They are type of family that say i will do it for you but never do,im sure you know the type! They would buy a grouting pen etc.I do like to do things to annoy them though, such as laying slabs without using a spirit level and sticking a stone underneath the corner and using old underlay for a membrane, lol. Cant believe you know nothing about roller blinds Jerry, you being the "man" an all.Looks like im "yanking" them down and filling the hole with papemache(dunno how spell it)

Lol Perpy, its such a large area it would cost a fortune in pens.Would use a white permanent marker though if there is such a thing.I used a black one when i had a brick hearth, kids nearly choked, lol. Just off to boil some eggs in the kettle whilst making a brew! NNN xx

Netty, if they are anything like the mini venetian blinds that I have, there will be two small brackets, one on each end, that supports them. The piece on the front of the bracket slides out, so you can remove the blind. At least that's how it works with my mini blinds.

I do most of the DIY too, so you're not alone! Have you tried an old toothbrush and a bit of thick neat bleach to clean the grout? It has to rinsed away quickly as soon as it goes white. It works for me, but it's best tested on a small inconspicuous area first just to be sure. I don't have any venetian blinds, I have roller blinds in the kitchen, main bathroom and downstairs loo, they're much easier to put up.

I'm sorry, Netty, but we cannot incorporate "canny" into your pet name because it doesn't begin with N. But you definitely are canny, I'm the sad one - all I'm good for is spelling, some of the time, so I'll tell y'all that it's papier (French for paper ) mache (with a grave accent on the "a" and an acute on the "e", don't bother to tell me how to do them because it's a waste of your time, I'll forget). scylla x EDIT - I had two i's in spelling - but that's not a spello, it's a tremor
