The vaping satisfaction one gets after ones build whether its micro macro nano or dual coil. Plenty of options to improve ones vaping performance. So what's the actual difference between a micro/macro/nano coil? From Videos I have watched a nano coil is wrapped around something like a pin shaft & cotton wool is packed against coil not through coil as in micro coil

Lairey The difference between micro and nano is the inside diameter of the coil.
Macrocoils builds are wrapped around something that has a large diameter, i.e anything over 2mm and also depends on the gauge of the wire. Most people use 24awg : 28awg Microcoils builds have a diameter less than 2mm Nanocoils builds less than 1mm and nanocoils are less than that
The thinner the wire, the less wraps/turns one would need to get a similar result.
Example 8 wraps of .25 around a 2mm bit would give a resistance of 1.85 5 wraps of .20 around a 2mm bit would give a resistance of 1.87
This would also depends on the awg of a wire
AWG = American gauge wire. The lower the AWG, the thicker the conductor The thicker the wire, the lower the AWG, and the lower the resistance per unit of length.
I think!

Yes lower resistances but also longer coils (sitting on bed of cotton woo)l so more surface area, so in theory bigger clouds Editlairey I just remembered I had dripper with dual nano coils (wrapped around pin shaft ) 0.6 ohms here is a couple of pics

Although I'm more than happy with the clouds I get from my micro coils... still haven't had a stab at dual micro coils yet, think the nanos are way away in the distant future, if at all, for me

A micro coil has an internal dia of between 1.4 - 1.6mm. less than that is a nano, more a Macro. Did I just make that up? Of course not, it's a universal standard When talking about micro coils, it's assumed that a micro coil has all the windings touching, but whether they are or not, it's the internal dia that determines what it's called. So you could have a standard nano, micro or macro coil with gaps between the windings. And if the coils a touching it's a contact nano, micro or macro coil. That's not a unversally accepted standard though Bottom line is that micro coils (squashed together windings ) seem to be more efficient

So, can most clearomiser heads be micro'coiled, I use Protanks and Evods mainly. I know Aspires can't be recoiled but what about the iclear 16b?

I'm still none the wiser! I shall have a crack at proper coiling soon and see what disasters I can make. On a side note, the valkeyrie is pretty easy to coil but I had mega help from Steve and t Taz

I do use micro coils but a low ohm coil wrapped on silica adds a little harshness that enhances some flavours for me, so for me at least, they're not better, just another option.

AWG is just the size (thickness) of the wire, over here we tend to use mm rather than AWG if you look here you will see that 34 AWG is the closest to our .20mm, it is really best to forget AWG as it just confuses the issue, unless you are talking to someone from the Americas.

I thought a micro coil just had almost no space between wire? i.e. not diameter of coil, lack of gaps in coil? EDIT: ignore what I just said
