Perpetua I have a bottle of pre-mixed concentrate for Rom's Rhubarb & Custard recipe that I've made up and the specific nic base (@12mg) to take the 36.5% flavouring. I wanted to see if pre-steeping the concentrates together made a difference to taste, (before nicotine came into the equation), and steeping times. ??? Be interesting Di to see if it does make a difference. It might do a little, though I still think nicotine is the greatest steeping accelerator. When I've mixed very low and high strengths for people, the higher strengths definitely seem to ' grab ' hold of flavour quicker. I think I understand what you are suggesting. Say I have 3 flavours I wish to have in a mix and add them all into a mix together and let them steep together the result you are after is not quite what you wanted. But if you make up three seperate mixes of the three flavours let them individually steep until they are ready and then combine the three flavours. Each flavour has had time to develop on its own without any influence from another. Sound method and something I haven't tried before. And I'm going to give it a go. Will take a while to be able to report back any results. I've done it in the past with Pie Crust/Cookie and Fruit Flavours uvm78, whilst I was still getting a feel for the concentrates and my tastes. It was a useful exercise, then I decided it was a bit faffy for me, so didn't bother again.

I'll make some up and bring to Vapefest14 then you can give it a go and see what you think, how about one batch a month??

I've been thinking about this recently. I have three juices I vape regularly which share three ingredients (in the same ratio), and each has a different fourth flavour. I was thinking about making a big bottle of the common three mixed together so that when I make these juices I can just use this common mix plus the fourth ingredient to make each juice.

Worth trying, I would say. 'Nothing ventured'... as the saying goes!

I do it a) because it's fun and b)I think that on the long run it's time saving.
I have many ideas for different recipies - so far I have only brought one into bottle ( well am not that long into vaping mixing ) I made the actual liquid yesterday after having let the concentrate steep - now I need to let the liquid steep
but with this method I only need to faff arround with several syringes once.
If I use a ready to use concentrate like Jack the ripple I don't use syringes - I have this measuring cylinder - and always a premixed 12mg base at home - so 10ml of concentrate - top it up to 50ml - put in bottle - ready
So when I have the bigger amounts with my own made concentrate mixes - I will do just the same

Mrsmac i am at present doing a little guide, it's my way of mixing so you might get some hints from it or you might just hate it. It should be up later

I enjoy pulling out all of my concentrates and mixing from scratch. I use one syringe for nic base, PG & VG, then for concentrates, I use three 1ml syringes: one with a purple needle for fruits, a pink needle for desserts and a green needle for mint/menthol/aniseeds - quick rinse of water between flavours and a wipe and I'm good to go . Unless, of course, I'm mixing Lovechild, then it's all about 5ml syringes for the concentrates as I tend to mix 100ml at a time

Not quite the same thing but: I would occasionally mix "burginia" ... a combination of burley and virginia tobaccos. I originally just added both flavours to my base/pg/vg but found, after a bit of experimentation, that I got more flavour by making two separate mixes, one of burley/base/pg/vg and one of virginia/base/pg/vg and letting each mix steep separately before combining the two mixes and letting that steep for a further period ... I haven't a clue why this method gives a better end result but to my taste buds it does. Do the same thing with one of my mixes. Added together at time of mixing, taste = not good, but mixed seperately, left to stand a few days then added together, taste = good. Sort of stumbled on the idea when vaping through a flavour change.

I enjoy pulling out all of my concentrates and mixing from scratch. Me too lairey . . . and very often I'll have a random inspiration/change of heart on what I fancy doing, so that method suits me. But it's interesting reading how everyone else goes about making their potions.
