Hi Guys and Gals, First of all thanks to Chrissie and others who helped me in my choice of e-cig purchase last month I bought a Stainless Steel eGo RIVA 510 1100 mAh with 10 pre-filled cartridges and have been topping them up with RY4 which is really doing the job in replacing the old bad habit!! I've only been used about three cartridges but am finding the (excuse my lack of terminology) 'foamy stuff' in the cartridges is going a bit dodgy and am then going onto the next cart to fill up when this happens. I'm about to order some more juice and was wondering if I should buy some more empty cartridges or whether theres a way of reusing the older ones where the foam is not so good? I've read about stuff called blue foam but am not sure where to buy this or whether this will be suitable with my cartridges etc. I've also seen the BUD Tank Atomizer 2.2ohm 1.5ml 510 on safercigs (Out of stock) and wondered whether this would work with my existing kit or not. Thanks for any advice and for reading my post! Happy Vaping! Ed

Or you could give the standard Boge cartomisers a try? Cartomisers are cartridges with a built in atomiser - they are considered disposable but can be refilled several times.

Thanks to both of you! I'll get some blue foam and give it a go! Cheers Ed

You got it in stereo there Ed, but at least we both said the same thing. The foam can also be rinsed out and re-used very easily.

As a fully paid up member of the blue foam brigade, this is the best filler of all. I don't know how big those squares are from paradise but the original way to use it was to place a very small square in the top of the cart. It's a two handed job and the square can fall out if you don't get it right. I bought mine off eBay, it comes in a box of four and I'm still on the first! What I do is, cut a piece as long as the cart, same diameter at the top. Then I trim the sides to form a long triangle if you will. The cart then holds the juice like a tank but as the bottom of it touches the top of the cart, the juice won't try to push the foam out, it holds juice very well.

What I have found can work well with carts and blue foam is to cut a piece about 3mm thick, making sure it is wider than the cart so fits in tight. Fill the cart (about 10-12 drops, fit the foam plug, add 1 or 2 drops on top of the foam, fit and vape. It sort of turns the cart into a mini tank which lasts quite a long time, can take a bit of faffing to get the plug right sometimes. Having said all that, I prefer cartos anyway . Just thought you might find it worth trying. As an ex pipe and rolly smoker, faffing can be half the fun

A bit of faff with vaping gear has never really bothered me I must admit, makes me feel all technical & clever. It's when it doesn't work out how I anticipated that peeves me.

I like the faff, sort of gives me that little bit of time 'to do something' before vaping, like when I rolled my own, maybe that's why I mainly stay with the Direct dripping and the carts :-)
