Simple post I know! After breaking my favorite drip tips which were in acrylic I dug an aluminum one out of my emergency stash and just thought I'd ask, any reason why I shouldn't use aluminum drip tips or are they the same as acrylic and stainless steel in terms of useability?

Should be fine, they are normally anodized so you won't touch bare aluminium, even if you did I cant see it being a problem.

If you can taste the metal I personally wouldn't use them. Anodised aluminium is quite safe, but if that surface gets damaged (stop chewing them) they may react with the juice you use.

I like some of the SS designs but would need some colour in my life lol and I find them too cold. Have managed to find another acrylic one which will do temporarily if I don't drop it!

I am looking into glass ones as well actually, just concerned if they break as I have little ones around. But great find!

It takes all sorts, I taste stainless steel and not aluminium (they both get too hot for me), but I with @mrsmac acrylic is the nicest to use. Mind you my sweat wares off chrome plating and that gives me a rash, probably a nickel allergy, brass is also unpleasant. I tries ceramic (would expect it to be similar to glass) for about 3 minutes, got too hot.

High end pans are made from anodised aluminium. Chew all you like, nothing will happen except your teeth will fall out. I prefer whistle tips, and have quite a few aluminium ones.

I feel £2 is expensive for such a simple and small utilitarian object as a drip tip, others like there bling and that's great.
