Well, I'm not ready to try it any time soon. I don't have all the tools or bits for the job. But I've been reading about coiling, and I just can not get my head around any of it at the moment. I'm loving vapeing. I don't have much stuff. At th moment but I hope I'm starting to build up a bit of good quality gear. I've been lucky and I've been given a few things. I've ordered a few bits, mainly juice but a few small things too. I should have a second hand mvp on its way to me for me to have a go at. I'm hoping to get a pro tank for it and a air flow control. And I've been reading up on coiling. But at the moment I just can not get my head around it. I think it will be one of them things that at some point it will just all since in and fall into place. Need to watch some youtube videos I think. What are other people that are newish having trouble getting there head around understanding ? Or when you were new, what did you have trouble understanding and how did it sink.in for you ?

I was seceptic at the beginning too - then I asked and asked and asked - got tremendous help - then I just tried it - the rest is history - just follow Super-Shiny 's guide and you will be fine

halight - are you free tomorrow afternoon? Fancy meeting at zeldamum's shop? We could have a coffee and I can show you how to coil, and give you a go too. It's ten times easier having someone showing and telling you what to do rather than watching a video. I think I'll be free, will have to check with OH when she gets in, but let me know when you are free and we'll have a catch-up and coiling session. I'm sure Helen won't mind! Edit: oo-er, I think I may have just had a senior moment. AM I right in thinking that you live in West Cornwall, or have I stupidly mixed you up with someone else!? There are so many new vapers popping up at the moment, it's hard for an old duffer like me to keep track of 'em all. Do excuse me if I've got it wrong, and see if you can hook up with someone local to you to show you the finer points *crawls away into dark corner - with Caravela and some Minty the Toff*

I echo what Clivia says - get yourself something cheap and easy to coil like an igo-L, some kanthal wire, some cotton wool, a few tools and follow Super-Shiny's guide. It's the way I learnt, and I promise it's nowhere near as scary as it may first appear. If you're using a variable voltage device, you don't need to worry about maths or anything like that - any coil between 1.5 and 2.2 ohms will work fine, so it's just a question of making the coils. Practise makes perfect! edit: of course, of you can find someone to show you, like Andy suggests above, it'll be even easier!

Would love too mate, but I'm about 300 miles away from you ! Many thanks for the offer.

Think that's perfectly normal!
I know I kept reading and watching videos and trying to follow tutorials and did think I'd never understand..... but you do eventually absorb info, think it's little and often!
things seem to come together the more you read and before you know it you've grasped it!

There is a local B&M shop too me. There is take of a vapeing meet there in there back room one day and maybe if there are the numbers sorting out a local pub that will.not mind us in there back room, or even main room. We still have a few pubs local that are only "wet sales" as in that don't do food. So they we think will be glad of our custom. Not many of these old places left now. But there is nothing better than an old pub. Anyway if any of this goes ahead then I will go along and see what I can learn.

Coiling is a peice of p I s s ( excuse my language lol) but honestly it boils down to the following 1) can you read / watch a guide on coiling Y/N 2) are you able to wrap wire around a drill bit/ toothpick / wick Y/N 3) can you pull two strands of wire down a tube ( kangers etc) or screw two wires onto posts which have screws Y/N 4) have a regulated mod or ohms checker to measure resistance Y/N 5) are you willing to try a few times , get it wrong , try again, get it semi wrong, try again get it right and think 'is that all this coil making malarkey is ? Ha ha ha' Y/N 6) do you want to vape like a boss Y/N If you answered Y to any of the above you will be coiling confidently within a week. trust me , I / we all been there it's easy.

If you follow the guide picture by picture/description by description it cannot really go wrong build wise, might need a little tweaking after but after time you won't need to tweak anything as it will become second nature. Give it a go you may surprise yourself, you might even kick yourself for not trying it earlier

Not read any of his yet. Might do those later this week. Bit of a tough week here time wise. The kids are on half term so they are here most of the time.

I never ever thought I'd be able to build a coil halight, never . . . I'm the least technical person on the planet, but even I managed it so I'm positive you could as well. The IGO-L has to be one of the most straightforward dripping atomisers to set up, here's a short video - nothing fancy just a simple build. But the principles are in essence the same for many rebuildables. It's worth a watch.

Or when you were new, what did you have trouble understanding and how did it sink.in for you ? Buy some kanthal, wrap a coil, check the ohms, stick in some wick and vape. That's the basics of the thing. You'll learn as you go about varying the ohms and what sort of coil you prefer, no need to overload yourself. Here's a little list of things to buy to get started. 1. A multipack of wire, one of those cardboard packs 2. Some 2mm silica 3. A bag of cotton balls from any supermarket 4. Some cheap drill bits, 1.5mm, 2mm and maybe 2.5mm. They're pretty cheap from most hardware shops. Once you have that lot just follow a guide of some sort either on here or youtube and vape on! You'll pick it up in no time.
